Tim Simona - Deregistered

Ive made my mind up now we have the facts.
The bloke is a total maggot and i hope he cops everything he deserves. No sympathy for that theiving traitorous piece of scum.

Im with you on that. Withholding money from charities is pretty low, not to mention the rest of it.

Its a shame. I liked him too.

Cap problems solved woohoo

On Simona. Silly silly boy throwing his career away. Fingers crossed he gets the help he needs and gets his life back on track. I'm sure the club will still have a duty of care towards him. He'll no doubt need a lot of support.

Bugger that. Dump him like the trash he is. Sink or swim Timmy boy…you deserve to sink.

Yeah, just let him go the way of Ryan Tandy. Why not

I always liked Simona but I cant feel pity for him.
It hurts to realise that all the time we were supporting the team, he was betting against them and possibly working against them.
He was in a position that so many young players dreamed of and he didn't appreciate it, kids looked up to him and he let them down.
I realise gambling is an addiction and I hope that he can get his life back on track but I am glad to see him gone from Rugby League. Playing first grade Rugby League is something not many get to experience and he didn't deserve to have that honour, stealing from charity is unforgivable.
Onward and upward Wests Tigers with players that have integrity and want to win.

There are numerous Facebook RL fan members coming out now saying he texted them offering jerseys for auction….

Unbelievable

Despite what he's done I hope he doesn't go and do something silly, but I think it's probably time his family rallied behind him and give him the help and support he needs.

I believe the club should distance themselves from him.

Not being a smartarse Ink but what do you find unbelievable? The nature of the allegations, or those whom are providing them?

Looks like ESL will enforce the ban

It will be rugby union or bust for Tim

Timmy mate you had it made, anyone of us League fans and ex players would have only dream of having your skill and talent.
In my opinion there something not totally right about a society that elevates and highly pays sports men or women to play what is essentially a game we play for fun and mateship . This society attitude does seem to provide the opportunity to side step a lot of lives morale's and normal life experiences, but I watch it.
I would be careful before we harshly judge anyone that fails to meet the lofty standards and expectations. It might be wise to walk a mile in their shoes before making these judgments.

ah, its pretty disappointing the whole thing. Simona was one of my favourite players but i guess as rugby league supporters all we really see is superficial and you don't really know what a player is like as a person - which would influence opinion on them. this is evident with actors who play a villainous role being abused by people in the street!
(if i ever see that kid who played king joffrey… im gonna punch him so hard right in the face!!! )

image can be deceiving and people who appear awesome may not actually be so and i think this is a big reason people are so disappointed; an exciting young rugby league player who has a good image doing his best for the team you support turns out to be far from our expectation.

people make mistakes, people make bad judgments. but its hard to forgive something like betting against your own team/for your opponent to score. that's pretty bad (particularly in our sport-centric society). a once off error may be forgivable, but you just cant imagine someone with integrity doing it over a prolonged period.

it really is the feeling of being let down....

having said this, maybe some perspective can be used in that far worse has been done by far more people? at the end of the day, he will pay the price deemed commensurate to his actions and i think that should be enough.

maybe a bit callous, but there is now the issue of that unexpected cap space.

No matter how you look at this situation, there are no winners.

I hope Tim Simona gets the hope and support he requires to beat his demons and have a quality life.

again, i find someone able to say with concision what took me paragraphs…

Does anyone actually believe he has a gambling addiction? I don't see any evidence. Just an opportunist who wanted to make some easy money.. Was obviously well thought out. Glad this saga is over now and our team might realise it's full potential without being held back by someone potentially helping our opposition every week.
