Tim Simona - Deregistered

i actually thought he was one of the best defenders in a poor defensive backline. However to do remember him doing some stupid kick and chances on the 1st or 2nd tackle. i think he did it twice from memory.

Yes he did and they do stand out in my memory as poor options

Thats more the thing that stick out in my memory.

A couple of brain dead passes and kicks early in tackle counts in our end.

And some mystery injuries during game where he stayed down.

If all this cannot be proven and that s not a given with this mob investigating then we should support one of our long term players to the hilt, I am sure the players will be doing this at this stage.
Because we are looking for money for the BIG 4 it looks to me that we will draw and quarter anyone who looks vulnerable to make a grab for extra money and their re signing.
We have to keep in mind innocent until…................

The image of Teddy coming across late to an empty left side is familiar. We all just blamed Rankin though. Now we'll probably never know.

Of all the stupid things you could bet on, putting money on your opposite number has gotta be the fastest ticket out of professional sport.

Kieran Foran only got a slap on the wrist, not because the offence wasn't heinous, but because the alleged criminal comspiracy is so convoluted that it's too much of a headache to properly investigate or prosececute.

Simona's transgression on the other hand is so clear cut, that if the evidence checks out the integrity commission won't even need a recess to consider it. They'll slap a lifetime ban on him and take an early lunch.

Can you imagine if Kev had money on his opposite, he would have become a millionaire on the back of 2016 alone and would never have to play footy again lol.

If proven true his next game will be at Long Bay. If true, one of the lowest acts ever in Australian sport

Why would a guy earning hundreds of thousands a year waste his time with small-time rubbish like this?

If he had bet thousands of dollars you could understand he has dollar signs in his eyes. But to bet $10 here or $20 there … and on matches he is involved in ??

If half these footy players were not good athletes, you would have to think they would be almost unemployable, such is their stupidity.

No way of knowing until more details come out, but if you've got a betting scam going on the last thing you want to do is show all your volume in one go. First tryscorer markets won't be carrying huge liquidity so if you try to stick a couple of grand on in one go it'll be picked up immediately (hello Ryan Tandy). Half of big punters' work is getting their bets on without moving prices too much or being refused - and that's for legit betting.

What I'm saying is that although the individual bets may have been small until we know how many of them there were it would be premature to assume he was just fooling about for few hundred bucks here and there.

Trouble is by trying to spread the risk by keeping the numbers low, you're also increasing the number of transactions in play, any one of which could get you caught.

What can you say really? If true, he's a deadset idiot.

He never did come across as being too bright in interviews. I can't fathom why someone would take the risk in doing such a stupid thing.

Disturbing that he was allegedly betting on players to score that he was marking yet was still less of a liability defensively than Naiqama.

I feel for the team and the guys that try 100% every week.
I feel for the fans the cheer and travel to games every week.
It's a massive breach of trust. I'm honestly just disgusted.
The whole 2016 was thrown away for a few bets It's safe to say.
We had plenty of close games where his edge defence failed.
Only has to be one game affected and finals was done for us.

He should not be allowed to play again, anywhere.
Match fixers shouldn't prosper.

If true he wont be allowed to play again and nor should he.Do you really believe that it was his defence that cost us a spot in the top 8 last year?To me there where many more "leaks" on the other side of the field.
Dont get me wrong he should never play again and could easily face criminal charges but lets not distort what happened in 2016

I agree.
Our right side defence and probably Teddy's injury kept us out of the 8 last year.

Yep. I wont hang the bloke on the rumored info we have presently. It looks really bad but nothing is concrete yet is it?

He's a nice young kid. Unfortunately he has thrown it all away.

2GB news have said NRL have handed documents to the NSW Police , this does not sound good at all , but still we need to wait before we hang him

He's hardly going to make things glaringly obvious in missing tackles or putting in stupid kicks. There's any number of ways to allow a try to take place or to gently encourage things to happen the way you'd like them to. I don't really accept an argument of his defence was good. Maybe his pace was down, maybe his talk wasn't what it was supposed to be, I dunno, it's just crap to think that once again, our team, our club is in the headlines for all the wrong reasons. God it's hard.

Good to see its in the hands is the police. The NRL investigation would be a balls up.
If guilty, is there an avenue for the club to go after what they payed him?

I think it was pawsandclaws who said Tim is of outstanding character ..a guy you could build a team around..

I will wait to see the outcome before passing judgement..

Maybe Timmy was just holding fast to the JT ethic of "we're not here to win" and thought he would make some pocket money in the process…........
