THe one thing that worries me is our past , we have a history of letting gold go and keeping the lead

Past being the keyword. New coach. New CEO.

Re-signing Farah, Keith, Boz, taking up extension options on Ava, Sue, Gavet, Koro. Mayer stating that Santi, Lovett, Brooks, Moses, Luani are in the process of being tied up.

Not bending over backwards for Benji and endangering our ability to keep Brooks & Moses.

Despite being linked to over-the-hill duds like Halatau, Kingston, Poore, Maitua etc. the club went out and signed Taupau.

Haven't really put a foot wrong in regards to recruitment/retention since they've taken charge.

Your kidding right , so far we've signed the 5th best prop from the Dogs ,a guy who hasn't played NRL since 2005 and another who the club already let go and your excited

Your easily pleased mate , me Im after more substance that what we have

Just remember the club has said they are searching the ESL for more talent , a retirement village for many ex NRL players and any good English talent is already here

Any good talent in the NRL is gone , where do you expect us to find upgrades for what we have

fringe first graders aren't upgrades , they are just hit and hopes like the other fringe players we have that we have to more than the fringe guys we have

Nah sorry happy, but you're not right in my opinion. Every signing and resigning this season by potter has been great. I'm not quite sure what role the CEO plays in signings, whether he just has the final say or an active role in it but I'm giving most credit to Potter. Who is our ceo right now anyway? Cause, humpheries is obviously gone soon, but he's still acting CEO i thought? or did grant take over…

I could understand it from Simona's side if true. If I was him, I would have been p1ssed with signing Richards

Now he is probably 6th in the pecking order for outside backs.

Lawrence
Ayshford
Richards
Koro
Nofo
Simona…
Big T

We all know that Lawrence or Ayshford should be pushed to the 2nd row, but not sure that;s ever going to happen;

I'll tell you what though, an abundance of 1st grade standard players certainly is a good problem to have.

Really unsure what Mayer meant in the interview the other day when he said "An outside Back wouldn't go astray". Seems ludicrous given the above. I hope he was talking about filling a gap in NSW cup.

The Sharks can just F off and leave our players alone as far as I'm concerned. Here's a novel idea you stupid club - how about trying to build a future team with your own juniors instead of stealing everyone else's. Cronulla has never really been a team I've hated in the past - moreso felt sorry for them, but by God I'm really beginning to hate them now.

Q: (@PJMoseley88) Flanno strikes again! Has pinched another man from Tiger Town. They are furious. Future star.

The Lurker: You must be talking about Tim Simona. Mail is he is going to Sharks. He has been a standout for Tigers in recent weeks and Sharks are desperate for outside backs, so he will be a good signing if the mail is right.

Hope it's not true but with koro and pat Richards coming and sharks need a gun centre I guess it's good for both parties :frowning: hope it's not true!

The Sharks need a gun centre? The last couple of years Sharks needed a hooker, a halfback, a lock, two props and a winger. That's half a team. Guess where they all came from - Wests Tigers. Wests Tigers would be completely stupid and irresponsible to let Simona go. The Sharks would welcome him with open arms and a huge smirk.

If Wests Tigers let Simona go to Sharks I would say that it is Mayer who did not know what he is talking about.

Go get stuffed Cronulla. Get your own players!

I would be so disappointed if he left, especially to the Sharks of all places. I've always rated him since he debuted way back against the Warriors two years ago. I never understood why he wasn't given more game time (instead we signed Utai), but now I am glad to see him going so well.

Simona has been very good in the last month, but you cant keep them all, if we happen to lose him, it will be a little disappointing but not the end of the world.

Even he goes elsewhere and carves out a good career, i reckon we will have enough in the outside backs to be satisfied, we wont regret it too much.

Seriously? How can you say we wont regret it? He has been one of the few major highs in the last 12 weeks - has won us two games at least - big big blow if he goes.

Cause Ive seen him play loads of games not just the last 4, and think he is pretty good and potentially a good first grader, he wont be Greg Inglis and the choices we have around him are at least as good or better, as I said you cant keep them all.

we also have Noffa, Korrobete, Tedessco, Mr T plus more senior players for the outside backs, you simply cant ahve all of them in your side, any of those we keep in the outside backs are going to be good, you cant have them all

Tim has been great the last few weeks that's for sure!!
I have long watched Tim wondering why he wasn't put on the Wing in 1sts…
IMHO he should have been our 1st choice winger in 2011, 2012... It's great to see him making a fist of the extra opportunity he has been afforded this year.
I realise he is the flavour of the month ATM, But some people seem to forget he made his NRL debut 2 years ago, And whist being strong in state cup, I wouldn't say he has been tearing it to pieces!! -Stating he is a future superstar is a touch much, As it has taken him 3 years to get to here....
I believe the Sharks would be offering him a centre position (Given the fact they haven't had a decent one in years) But I don't believe he is a 1st Grade centre... Maybe in Jnrs' and 2nds'... But not Firsts. - Very much in the Daniela mould... Quick enough... Just not quite big enough.
I do think he would be a good NRL winger - As he has proven of late, But Noof has also been great... And is years younger!!
It is right, We can't keep them all.. And some difficult desicions will need to be made.
Noof is signed for a few more years.... Pat is coming back, We have the likes of Brien and Asipeli in Ressies,
Koro and Simona are the only ones off contract this year.....
I would be very surprised if we kept both of them!!
In reality, It is a choice between Simona and Koroibete....
Korobiete would be my choice (Despite my Fondness for Simona) I just feel Koroibete has more to offer....
Tim has come through and been in our system for years with limited opportunity. He is a good guy and if he has the chance of bettering himself at the Sharks... I wish him all the best!!

Superstars aren't made overnight batboy. It takes years to get the top.
I'm not saying he will be that good but I also won't say he can't be

Simona should step up and say if he has or is going to sign with the Sharks… Next week Koro is back then Simona back to regies for the rest of the season . See Ya.! Can,t blame him if he does as he is another one that Sheens Butchered.

Its a sad fact, but you can't keep them all.

I don't want Simona to go, but I am resigned tthat at some point we are going to lose a couple young guys.

Just pisses me off that Sharks are again at the door, swear to god their recruitment strategy is to take our leftovers. Especially when their own fans continually bag our club, only to sit up and clap like a retarded seal everytime they sign one of our guys.

apparently sharks supporters on their forum are saying he's been signed & also going on about all the players they've taken from us -_- omg they p*** me off!

I agree mate….
But the 2 Guys he is competing with for a spot, (I Feel) Showed a lot more Promise, A lot earlier than he did...
As well as it being their first choice position.
Tim will never be WT's first choice in his prefered position... Just math really!!
Good Luck to him....

Don't know why everyon keeps talking up Richards return - after watching him a few times in ESL i can't see why we re signed him - he is lazy and slow.

Would love to see him stay, but if he wants to go what can you do ? The offer from the Sharks could be very big & maybe we cant match that with so many good young juniors coming through.
