Tim Simona To The Sharks?

Agreed I think we need to remember that you can be under the cap and still breach the salary cap rules and get fined. Also to the sharks defence if they have an y chance of becoming more viable financially they need to spend the whole cap and be competitive - winning = $$ ion crowds, merchandise, sponsorship, etc

what annoys me is that cronulla were the highest fined club in 2012 for salary cap breaches, they always crying poor and going cap in hand to the NRL for advances and then come out offering contracts to anyone on the market - the hierarchy need to police the whole thing a lot more closely.

They got fined 150k and thats without the 200k we are helping them with..so they are 350k over the cap, wow.

This is incorrect. Massively.

The Sharks had a 30k 3rd party sponsor deal that was not known about. Once discovered, they alerted the NRL. They still got a fine, in the vasinity of 150k as someone at the club knew about it.

It wasn't exceeding the salary cap, or the 2nd tier cap. It was poor management of 3rd party deals.

So what part is incorrect massively - 1\. they were the highest fined club for salary cap breaches regardless of what for - fact
2\. they are always crying poor and asking NRL for advances - fact
**3\. they are linked to just about anyone who is on the market - slight exaggeration**

****

They are linked to any Wests Tigers player who is, or isn't, on the market - no exaggeration!

There's a small piece in today's Sunday Telegraph saying that despite signing Ayshford, the Sharks are cashed up and still want Simona.

Hopefully the Tigers have enough money now to pay Simona a fair deal.

Best Sharks can hope for with our rejects is a couple of years at the bottom end of the 8.

The only player I am resentful of Sheens for letting go is Fafita, but i suspect there was more to it than what has been made public (If Farah and Marshall wanted him, he would have been kept). Most of the players let go have well and truly peaked and are in decline. We should be thankful they are helping us accelerate our rebuild.

Next project is Moltzen and then Blair. Bell, Lote and Utai. Lawrence should be given a re-worked training program and performance targets and unless he can meet these needs to be either moved to backrow or moved onto the UK.

If you think our forum is bad for fake rumours then the Cronulla one is embarrassing.

Half of them claim to be in the know and the other half believe every word that's said. They said Simina was a done deal, that Koroibete would be joining him and dismissed any talk of Ayshford joining them as being false.

They also manage to link themselves to just about every player that comes off contract by saying they're a good chance.

Hilarious read parts of this thread.

Same on the LU Sharks forum, claimed to be in the know, had Simona already signed and ready to announce, but never had a clue on Aysford.

well he's re-signed a 2 year deal with the tigers. going on the recent past, that probably means he will go to the sharks next year
