Rabs Warren is like a songbird, you like the way he sounds, not the sense of what he actually says. He is an undisputed legend and the defining voice of the game, you can't just push a guy like that off a cliff, he has to walk when he realises he is done.
I agree with lots of sentiments here, Warren Smith or Vossy are the next best options for play callers. I don't agree Smith adds too much colour; he's accurate and gets his pacing and delivery right. Hadley sounds like a robot, as does Tim Gilbert. Fox commentators are also generally dealing with co-callers of lower polish, so they need to give it some more juice. You aren't exactly going to get much to work with from Kimmorley, Belcher or Gasnier.
Seriously these threads make me think about taking up calling, I wonder if they do open mic tests? I already talk about footy all week for free, I can only imagine being paid for it.
