Time for Potters signature

Time for Coach Potter to be signed for an extended contract , I don,t know what is going on at the moment with the club with the non signatures of some important members of the club …I say get the finger out!!!

Yep, six and four, when most had us sitting where or next to that position the sharks currently sit. Overdue signing.

Six out of ten in a season where we we're apparently getting the spoon. Definitely needs to be retained at the Tigers.

This isn't Mayers decision, it is the Boards and the Board has not been sorted yet. Once that happens he will be signed.

There is a club that he is very familiar with that will be need a coach at seasons end this signature has to happen ASAP.

We beat the team coming last by 2 points….I think we should look around as to who is available and how we go in the weeks after the Newcastle game before falling over ourselves to resign him.

Why? as long as they're jagging wins, his stock isn't dropping. His job shouldn't be hanging on whether we make the 8 or not. Sheens missed out on the finals the first two yrs and look what happened the yr after.

Sign him straight after we get Tedesco and Gavet !

He has shown more than weekly results by making the tough calls in his rookie year and his recruitment of Kidwell and Toddy as assistant coaches has been great.

I am happy that the team is playing like they want to be successful and with a hunger to wings in and they look happy to be playing together.

Without wanting to bag ex players look how they played yesterday and in which grades after they were cut last year, takes balls to be making tough calls and he has done that.

Yeah, but we also knocked over some big guns. You have to look at the big picture - not last game.

Agreed.

Sharks may be cellar dwellers but we played a very desperate team away from home and managed to grind out a win. I actually enjoyed the result.

Potter's getting back the NRL's respect for the WT's; sign him now!

Bad move signing him. Your sounding like St George fans at the beginning of season.. Win a few games, go by grand final tickets

I would not sign him u till at least end of season when we have had the results and for players to gel better with him.

Going by his past, he strikes me as a bloke that does not place a huge amount of emphasis on money.

I think he'd prefer to stay and finish the job he started

He'll be re-signed, no problem with it being now either, just lets everyone else focus on their jobs, there is no point leaving everyone in the dark and not re-signing wouldnt help with possible new recruits

Ive seen enough to see he has improvement in him too

He is a superb coach and is doing an excellent job. In a little over 12 months he has turned and refloated the titanic, cleared the deadwood, brought the next generation through, proving the doubters wrong.

Its not always about wins and losses. Its the way they are going about it that gives you confidence that we are heading the right way.

Compare us to the Titans. We are in roughly the same position but i'm advocating signing Potter but there is no way i would be signing Cartwright if i were the Titans. Why? Well i can see what Potter is doing, he has created an effective structure, building depth and seems to have a plan. The Titans, well Cartwright has been there for 7yrs, they have been grinding their wins, hard to see where they can score tries and once their pack disintegrates (which we are currently seeing) i think they will spend a few years rebuilding.

I would be tabling a 3yr deal asap.

Loyalty is a two-way street T-Rexx. If I was Potter and the club waited til my contract was over to offer me an extension it'd show they never really had true faith in my ability. I think he's shown enough since he started here that he's more than capable of coaching us.

I agree with Larry - There is no point in waiting unless we want a massive offer from another club to swamp us.

Irvine and Trexx are just negatives personified - I think if we won the comp you two would still want to wait for the following year.

We need to show Mick that we want him, that we have confidence in what he is doing and the way he is going the price is only going to go up. Can see another Teddy fiasco coming up.

He is coaching for peanuts, he deserves more. Money is probably not important but if someone comes along with an offer of heaps and we are not showing any loyalty - maybe he might have second thoughts.

Does not help the players who are not signed to make up their mind - I would want to know who the coach is for next year before I signed if I was them.

The point is - why wait….do we want him to win the comp on his own before we say "We want you Mick". :brick:

Agree …. What's the rush ?
Are other clubs falling over themselves to sign him ?
It's not as if we're after new recruits ... We're struggling to keep what we've got.
