Time for Woods to Step up also.

Now that all the stuff has hit the fan, its time for our skipper to stand up and lead. Lead with a speech much like Aussie cricket captain and ask players to dig deeper and want to play for the team.
I know some of you are going to say they should have already been playing this way. But in a way its going to be like a new beginning. Even Woods himself has to man up and put his big body on the line.
Next Sunday at his favourite ground he must lead the revival of the wests tigers and he needs players to come with him in support.

I have stated my opinion on Woodsey. I hope he can step up also. We need the younger version more than ever.

Woodsy never lets us down but he needs to show a bit stronger leadership. Im also not sure we are getting full value out of him given how much of our cap he takes up.

Needs to lose the Strawberry Shortcake headband off the field first and foremost. It's a very feminine look that sums up our playing group perfectly.
Soft club with a soft attitude, we need an injection of aggression, spirit and mongrel ASAP.

He'd better step up, not just on the field but in his actions off it too. Gives me no confidence listening to that bloke in the media, beats around the bush, lets people form their own opinions off his negative connotations.. Not the attitude of a good leader.

Form is all over the shop too, think there was a period last year where he began offloading more and it was quite effective? What happened to that? No wonder our team is so inconsistent, captain can't even get it right.

Time to cut the hair, trim the beard.
Show some leadership. The cool laidback hippie dude is old hat.
Show some mongrel.

Was about to the same thing. His beard and hair drive me up the wall.

What a bunch of fashion puritans
But fashion opinion aside, Woods was consistently one of our 3 best players, averaging 160 m per game, our only representative player, and arguably with Bromwich, the best NRL prop.
If we only have more players like him and Tedesco, go Tigers :sign:

He used to run for over 200 metres a game without backing into defenders and looking for a grab and soft fall to the ground. He needs to fire up and run hard.

Nothing fashionable about looking like a hobo.
Spends a good amount of time on the field adjusting his man bun.

I'm fascinated just thinking about how he'll respond tomorrow night on 360\. I just hope he's honest. If he says they just couldn't get along with the Coach,he'll earn a lot of respect rather than being vague. We all know now that senior players disliked Taylor, don't play us for fools Woodsy, just be honest

We now know in his last interview he pretty much said he would not re-sign if JT is going to be coach for the next 3 years. Now that JT is gone he can step up by signing the contract the tigers have in front of him and talking the club up. Would not be suprised one little bit if new coach makes Elijah taylor or Tedesco captain.

That is absolutely not what he said, don't misrepresent his comments.

Didn't Woods say not that long ago that playing footy was just a job? If that is correct make it true make the AH a brickie's labourer which is exactly what he'd be without footy.

He needs to bring his Origin game to club level that's for sure .

Too often he takes hit ups when we have guys who close to the line are far more destructive

Give Idris a month and give him the ball 10 metres out from the opposition line

As I said in another thread he is the WT's version of Gallen

Pretty sure I read for metres per hit up he is behind both Ava and Sue

Woods has been playing increasingly big minutes and his effectiveness has been going down proportionally. It's like he knows he will be playin 60+ minutes and runs less hard from the start to preserve his energy.

I'd rather he go harder and play less minutes. That would require the new coach to move away from the "no props on the bench" policy to give him more of a rest.

Fresh start for woods next week as it is for everyone else.

If you look at metres made after contact, young Suli is certainly up there leading the charge. But back to Woodsy, I think he has had a strong start to the season bearing in mind our completion rate in the past 2 games has been at 60%, the forwards in general are not getting a lot of ball to lay a platform for the team to work off.
