Time to be honest? (For all of us)

So far we have signed Lolo, Mbye and Doueihi to play fullback and all have been pretty ordinary.

That is a terrible strike rate. They have all been on decent coin, who is responsible for recruitment, and maybe that is where changes need to start

AD is a real shining light. His best game so far tonight.

Can’t stop laughing

You think he was poor?

He is a terrible fullback. Can’t cover the ground at all. I can’t believe how slow he is. Maybe a 5/8 as some has suggested. At fullback he hasn’t a clue. He’s never within cooee in defence.

Get Jumper back and stand 10 metres behind him and tell him where to be

Even in your dilapidated state I’m sure you could cover the ground faster than AD does.

That's a big no Mike ......you'd need all the Kings horses and all the King's men if I even attempted a tackle now

I didn’t say tackle I said cover the ground. I really can believe how slow AD is. Either that or he just isn’t interested at running.

lol. I don’t know what the answer is with the current roster. Maybe Mbye back to fullback and Talau to center.

Time to be honest? Apparently some players are out on Twitter blaming the ref - - there’s our culture right there. Beaten by a team without a victory in a year and we want to blame one call as the reason for our piss weak performance. There’s our current reality right there.

Hope Madge drops them

He spoke about all this accountability in his post match presser

Show us Madge ...prove you are this hard ass

That doesn’t tell you how long it took for him to cover that ground. It would not have been <25secs which is what I would expect (I’m being generous here) but probably more like 3 minutes to run 189m. He’s not a fullback’s behind I’m afraid.

Adam Doueihi - 189 Running Metres, 1 Line Break, 1 Try Assist, 7 Tackle Breaks, 1 Forced Drop Out, 1 Error. Was also safe under the high kicks. His positional play was not perfect but he was one of our best.

What game were you watching?

AD is not a fullback he is a dead set five eight some of his touches are gold he is a god solid attacking 6

Agree 100%. Corey outperformed him stats wise at fullback last year. He should be playing in the halves. He's our six next year when Benji gives it away. Look for a quality specialist fullback.

Those stats just tell me he’s a 5/8 and needs to be up front. He is certainly no fullback. Terrible positional play in defence, nowhere to be seen.

Benji kicked the field goal that should of been the winner. Can't blame him for not closing out the game IMO.

I agree, that was my thought. Benji played rather poorly overall but Tigers did what was needed to grind the winning points, then simply failed to defend the last set. You have to wonder where the cover is when a wingers puts a desperate kick back in-field and there are no Tigers contesting the live ball.

FB was caught out of position, though I can understand he's scrambling across field, but how often do wingers kick back in-field and there's nobody covering the in-goal? It's rare, not like it's a regular try-scoring play. Lacked fitness or hunger or desperation to close that final passage out.

Terrible defensive positioning. He made 2 awful defensive errors which cost us, both from kicks which it is his job to look after(40/20 and the kick behind Nofos wing). His attack was very encouraging but it is plain to see he is only a novice at full back which dosent help especially when he only came late to the club.
He definately is a first grade player and could well play 5/8 next year if we get a fullback from somewhere.Benji should retire and the sooner the better,i will always be thankfull for what he has done for us but he is living on past glory and is a liability in defence.

Reality is we've been churning out the same garbage for 20 years now. Coaches, boards and players have been turned over but nothing has changed. If we want to be honest with ourselves we're probably the prime candidate for relocation. Pack them up, ship them to Perth and start again.

I think the reason why Moses has grown a leg at Parra and Brooks has plateaued isn’t because one is the better player. I reckon a lot of it has to do with the system at this club. If Brooks moved to a strong club, he’d be flying.

I disagree Brooks just has not got it ..he looks like a lost dog on the paddock no flair no initiative no idea .
, as much I dislike Moses he is twice the footballer Brooks is .

Agree with you Snake. Moses is made of different stuff and always was. Brooks has got the skills but no smarts - can't see that changing.

And how many years have the tab had us at long odds to make the 8? And why does that make it ok?

Its not OK, but there is no quick fix for a clubs culture. It takes stability and patience, so it annoys me when we have a bad game and some people demand drastic change.

Players can have a bad game or be targeted by the defence. It doesn't mean we should fire everyone and burn down the demountables.

Quick fix drastic change mate it’s been 10 years now I think supporters have been more than patient, waiting for things to change 10 years is not asking for a quick change. Its the culture of the club

Watched Madge's presser again...

One really good point is he said "I don't want to say it, but it is the truth" that this club has a history of losing these games / poor execution / failing to put these games away.

Yes, it is the truth.

At this point, it just is...

As painful as it is.

So what are we going to do about it. Players need to be way more accountable. I know it's a can of worms but contracts need to have a performance based component to them. Club loyalty is dying out so what else will drive players?? Money. Money talks.

I feel the same. Moses was ordinary for us at times but has matured. He can even put a sentence together now. Brooks still seems to be developing but he hasn’t made the same leap. Regardless of our roster, and it has been ordinary, our system seems hold us down. What is it? Will the C of E make a difference and our guys turn the corner because they have facilities that inspire them?

I am a big Brooksy fan..........so, this is painful...

But it has happened way, way, way too many times to mount a case for him anymore.

He looks great in broken play...but closing sets? TERRIBLE. Building pressure? TERRIBLE. Steering a team home when in front? TERRIBLE.

It has been too long now to argue anything other. Maybe he is a running 6, but he is not a game closing 7.

I dunno. We were up by a point with 2 minutes to go but somehow surprised by the short kick off.

Yoss, we were up by double figures twice...against a QLD state cup team mixed in with some out of form vets. Half their team had not even played full mins all season. There are no excuses today. None.

I want to make some excuses and cling to hope...

But there are none.

This was bad...

I agree, I was more suggesting the issue is team wide not just Luke Brooks. Our record at defending short kickoffs must be the worst in the NRL.

I'm pretty well over the whole thing to be honest.

It's like eating Brussel Sprouts and spinach. You get force fed for years on end as a kid and eventually you just get completely sick of the whole thing.

I'm like that. This place has just force fed rubbish for years on end. You just get broken down. You can say "Well, next week's another game" and "tigers till I die" and all that, but you just get worn down and in the end, there's nothing.

That's where I'm at.

Can't ignore the quality of players that we identified and let go or were unable to retain. Its the reason we are where we are and there are numerous people who can be blamed for that depending who you hold most responsible.
