"Time to put Lawrence in Origin, says Sheens"

His defence has gotten a little sloppy lately imo, it had improved terrificly but im noticing a few more misses this year

i dont think he's done enough, actually i dont think he would handle the step up to state of origin, he's a great centre no doubt about that, but lacks that bit of mongrel needed for origin , imo.

If I were to guess what team Fulton, Daley & co would pick I would say this would be the side

1\. Gidley
2\. Hayne
3\. Lyon
4\. Cooper
5\. Morris

6\. Bird
7\. Barrett

8\. Poore
9\. Ennis
10\. White
11\. O'Donnell
12\. Gallen
13\. Watmough

14\. B. Scott
15\. Creagh
16\. Tolman
17\. Cross

How could the selectors justify picking, Bird, Barrett, Ennis and Gallen? If Ennis or Barrett are anywhere in this time I will forever start cheering for QLD.

Gee thats pretty weak, changing teams becaause you disagree with selections - soft really.

Whatever happened to fans being staunch and true?

u all bag Ennis, but he shows more mongrel in games then Farah… their playing ability isnt that greatly differnet..

i think some of u need to take the blinkers off and look from out side Tiger world..

But in saying that, if i picked the team on form, Farah wins. Farah had his chance last year x 2 and blew it... does he deserve redemption.. i think so.. but if he blows it again... thats it

As stated before, and very very wisely so i might add (forget who it was) its not mongrel with enis, its niggle….hes done nought this year but not surprising as his forwards have struggled

some players will be awsome club players, but are never going to step up to SOO level etc..

Agree. I hope Farah can prove he isnt one of these. Deep down I think he might be. I think this is more of an issue of how representative games are played rather than a problem in Farah's game. Ignore Rob's errors in last years games, he still didnt play well. Why? Because he wasnt allowed to play his natural game.

How can you be staunch and true when the people who pick the team and the governing body have only been staunch and true to their favourite players instead of picking the right team that can win for their state and fans. I for one refuse to support a team because the selectors have their "favourite players."

and Nigle can put the other teams off their game.. but ur right.. he has done squat this year..

ST, i dont think Farah will be one of those players.. he has the ability, he just needs a team behind that matches his ability.. and the past few NSW SOO Teams have been crap..

Jesus…how did this become about Farah....then sink to the depth of Fitzy...

Bugger the Tiger glasses Rexx....Lawrence would not be out of place in Origin.....Tony Currie said so....

I think you'll find Sheens' patience with Fitz's inept abilities are starting to wear thin.

Why?

He's gone from bench with no game time to starting winger, with another winger dropped…if anything it looks the opposite.

Chris for some reason I get the same feeling you have. I have nothing to back it up. But this year, Tim Sheens has been far less charitable, even in his after game comments. I think he knows he has a good team this year and unless you perform you're out.

I hope

Because those guys are 'made' for origin. Funny, since they've started selecting guys 'made' for origin, we've lost 4 series in a row!

I wonder if the selectors thought that 'Andrew Johns was 'made' for Origin when he first played, or Brad Fittler when he played as a 20 year old, or Laurie Daley when he was selected around that age?

To me its simple, select the best players available, then develop your game plan around those players, not develop your game plan and then select the best players for that game plan!

Johns didnt play halfback for NSW until quite late in his career. He kept getting selected at hooker and showed he was also a better hooker than any other in the game. But agree with your point about this "made for origin" rubbish.

Not sure if thats Sheens instructions to act as a blocker when fielding a bomb and let his winger take it, but he often just turns his back on the kick chasers and doesn't compete for the ball in the air.

Happened again against the dogs. Did absoloutley nothing in defending the Idris knock back for the Ennis's try. Looked to try and check Idris's run. Proved unsuccesful. Even close to being penalised. Just go for the ball please lawrence. You might not give Lote a clean attempt to diffuse the kicks but your bound to make it more difficult for the chasers.
Not once did he defuse the grubbers early in the game either. Just left them for Tuquiri and one or 2 were very close to Bulldogs tries. Just go for it every time.
