Today's Attendance

Was a crap day weather wise but beating Manly made up for the soaking I copped.

A Manly fan came along with our usual group, he said he would never complain again about the facilities at Brookvale again after going to the dungeon toilet

Was walking out of the ground and some of the drivers going so fast with such a crowd makes you wonder about how smart they are. I think one was a resident as she was driving towards the ground. I think police just have to close all the roads near the ground for about 1 hour before kick off and 1 hour after kick off.

Great crowd…I loved every rain soaked minute of it......so much fun on the hill.....that would have been 20k plus on a good day....well done everyone who went,u got served s dead set treat.

I woke up with a pretty crap does of the flu today tho! But worth it. Robbie acknowledged the crowd when he came out, and you just felt they were up for something special.

Isnt it just great to see the payers love it…..so special to me...and wwhen Woodsie and Robbie scored they were fist pumping right into the crowd...it just doesnt get better than that...

Great turn out at LO.. Lets ensure we all get to Campbelltown on saturday…

6) Is Leichhardt Oval really the eighth wonder of the world?

No. That's because I've actually got it in my top seven and have relegated Machu Picchu.

I love the place. It was the ground I went to more often than any other as a young fella. I particularly had many a happy night spent on a Wednesday watching the old midweek cup.

The heart would beat just a little faster as the bus drove over Iron Cove Bridge and you looked over and saw the glow of the lights. Then on the big match days as you walked down the tiny streets towards the ground, you would hear the roar of the crowd when a break was made or points were scored.

The ground was again alive and kicking last Sunday. The spirit of Laurie Nicholls lives on.

If ever the NRL introduces a big stadia policy across the board, can we insert a clause that says Leichhardt is the exception?

Enjoy the weekend of footy folks. I'm off to Eden Park for what is a huge game for the embattled Warriors against the in form Bulldogs.

most modern up to date ground around…plastic bucket seats were flash

A night in 77 stands out for me

great game, loved getting soaked out there with 16 thousand other fans.

hopefully we can break 18k on a warm saturday evening this week.

although i love suburban venues, financially they are not an option in the long term. We have to get 14k just to break even, last year we avged around 11k at LO, meaning we lost a considerable amount of money as a club.

To contrast, we've drawn 20k at both ANZ games this year (one away one at home). And ANZ has improved its average from 15-16k in 2006 to 22k in 2012/13 for the regular season with plenty of room for improvement this year. Two 30-40k+ crowds expected in round 7 there. Not one suburban venue averages 22k consistently.

Funny how the lighting was state-of-art in the 70s and is now borderline.

It's slightly before my time, but I also find it interesting how they changed the field orientation, I can't imagine watching the players run the other way. Still makes for a bastard some sunny days when the setting sun pings the hill.

You won't get an atmosphere like that at ANZ just won't happen Allianz maybe . Liechhardt Cambo Allianz are all built for football as ANZ isn't its just to big and you are to far away from the field
