Tommy on Channel Nine?

Went to bed early in feverish delirium and thought I saw an ad for Channel 9 late news that had Tommy Raudonikis slamming the Tigers saying a high flyer in the team needed to be dropped. Of course they showed pics of Benji ad Robbie, but don't think they were the ones implicated. Can anyone shed some light? :sign:

That was Benny Elias slaming the Tigers Showed pics of Benji, Robbie Lote Tuqiri and Chris Lawrence then show a few highlights of Moltzens blunders..

Elias went on to say he wants to dump a senior player and to stop playing the razzle dazzle type of football that were been playing and to toughen up..Blah blah blah …

Bit of a time filler piece. Even though they promoted the interview as a star needing to go and showed the image of Tiquiri, Marshall, Farrah and Lawrence the interview didn't touch on that again. Merely about how the Tigers need to ditch the razzle dazzle and get back to basics. Maybe catching the ball and not letting it bounce would be a start.

people need to get over the letting it bounce and catching bombs etc.. its happened in one game not the other 4 we lost.. stop trying to put the blame on one particular thing…

:crazy :crazy :crazy :crazy

Ben Elias back talking about the Wests Tigers….....how about that. I thought he was busy working with Sage and their Perth NRL bid? It actually turns out their bid is not recognised by the WARL, so if that is dead in the water, best for Benny to use Wests Tigers profile again for his own benefit to develop his next idea....

Did he actually say "Wests" in the interview?

Another bitter ex player bagging the team…blah blah blah. Keep your nose out.

OMG was delirious…Benny and Tommy Oops!
Tommy would have had the boys jabbing one another to toughen them up. Benny would have had them at the hairdressers.

The funny thing about this is that Tommy says the team is soft and underperforming… Even going one step further and insinuating he could do a better job at the age of 62 after a quad bypass, he's insightful... Elias says something similar, he's made out to be a pariah...

Benny was no lightweight on the field , tough as nails - but Tommy has the mangled voice and coarser language that appeals to a lot of diehards.
I think all Benny is trying to get across is we have to play tough before the razzle dazzle - and not rely purely on our flamboyant plays to save us every time.
Tommy just wants us to punch people .

Was just thinking exactly that ck &cb. Can't remember Elias taking a backwards step. Was always a tough competitor. Maybe not as fierce as Tom though!

And his pleas will fall on deaf ears, we've been playing this way for many years now. Just how it is. He is right, you have to earn the right to play razzed dazzle by laying the platform first but it's not always the case with WT. hopefully they can turn it around on Sunday

I don't have a problem with what either of them said (personally neither are exactly Nostradamus because they're telling everyone something that they already know,) what annoys me is that some on here will praise Tommy for saying what he said, but Elias sings the same tune and is subsequently lambasted.

Elias can say what he wants - he's done the hard yards - hes been there, he'e bled on the field, whereas Tommy is an iconoclast.
Let them say what they want. Its not like they dont care anymore.

Both tough competitors who played for their nation, and gave their all.
can understand their point of view and expressing their disappointment.

hopefully soon, they will be pleased with on field results, and of course come out and say, " we did it as motivation for the team and it worked" lol

Benny was plenty tough!!

I can see how Tommy and Benny could be confused, both former players who enjoy reveling in the old days and sticking the boot in every time the modern players are struggling.

I remember a former wallaby when being prompted to give it to the current side when they were struggling responded by saying "all I know is, that I make alot less mistakes out here than I did on the field, maybe in a few years I'll forget about them and be able to agree with you about how bad everyone has been since I retired"

I loved Benny as a player, was one of my favourites, Tommy was a little before my time, but respect him immensely as a player, I think both of them have forgotten all the mistakes they made when they played

I love Tommy but he is a walking headline

Journos ring him knowing that he will call it black and white as he sees it and they know they will get a car wreck

Think you have missed the mark here. Check the thread where Tommy called them soft - many on this forum questioned the value of his comments given his coaching record in the final years at Wests and that he is from another era so cannot understand the modern game.

 I rushed to the tele to see what Benny had to say. Nothing i haven't been saying since round one.Yes he and Tommy and siro and Blocker and anyone else who wants to say something to get the team revved up can do so. I for one can never get tired of Benny on the Tele.
