Great game, almost had that try aswell, unfortunately got a lil excited, could have tried to hide what he was doing better, but where did Talau become this strike weapon to catch bombs on the edges? It’s a recent thing! But him and douiehi being able to do that for us is big. Would have been a great try if it wasn’t for the penalty. My corner of the crowd was the closest and we where up until we heard that whistle ...

That low crossfield Brooks bomb has been really effective and if BJ when there had held the ball he had in his hands, a few more tries would have been scored, along with an extra win.

Tommy Talau is a natural footballer. He’s raw needs work but will be a real weapon for us in time. Have to persist last few weeks apart from errors have been strong. He levelled a few blokes out there. Great work by the kid.

You can see him building. Just needs to work on the mistakes and he’ll be a dam good Center.

He gave away a strip penalty on the first tackle of the game, put us straight under pressure, he gives away dumb penalties and makes some horrible mistakes every week.
His general play is pretty good, but every week I am cursing at his stupidity, his defence was way better last night

I have not been a fan, but I can see him building and improving. I hope it continues on this trajectory.

Same. Much better at centre too.

Yeah Talau managed to catch it clearly and make the break to score but the ref pulled it back because nofa ran someone of the ball unforuntelty, would have been a great try tho

Tommy Talau - 0 errors. All you need to know.

Out of position in defence on a few occasions which i am sure was noted.Work in progress but still young

Great game. Back on the right where I think he does his best work.

Played well. Only issue in defence is they need to trust each other more. They tend to cover the inside and then fall short in numbers on the outside.

Better centre than winger

By a long way. Pretty sure he is only ever on the wing because no other options were available.

I would like to see him in the off season train as a lock style forward. With his size he is only going to get bigger and his skills/speed off mark would make for a good lock. Yes he needs to work on defensive side but nearly everyone in the team does.

never questioned his work ethic or his talent, he was simply just making too many unforced errors that were costing us at least 6 points a game. stoked to see him back and the week being dropped has certainly made him up his game. he needs time at right centre, let's hope he makes the spot his own with JTJ up in the air.

I think eventually,Talau and AJ could be the centre pairing, both young but could develop a lethal combo over time...

Ive said my few pieces on what i think about Talau in recent weeks and i dont think it would be pleasant reading for him to see. But yesterday he did have a good game.
In saying that though , he is 21 years old and should ,
by now , be at a level in his career where his ability to do the things he has to do on the field are moving on the up. He hasnt shown that.
You look at some of the other teams in the comp who have 19yr olds and what theyre doing week in week out in games and you think to yourself why cant our blokes do the same. I think thats where most of our frustration comes from when we see this from Talau.
Here's hoping that yesterday was a turning point for him and he improves , especially since being dropped.
