Top Four Prospect

If the Tigers win their two remaining games(& I think they will) what needs to happen with the other teams for us to end up fourth and get a home semi? NZ and the Cows play each other in the last round.

Go The Tigers!

I had a look on the TAB website this afternoon and out of the Cowboys, Warriors and Dragons, we're the shortest odds to make the 4 at $1.90

This really caught my attention and made me really think about how this is possible.

Here's how we make the 4.

Ladder currently stands at
4\. Warriors - 30pts - +103
5\. Cowboys - 30pts - +56
6\. Tigers - 30pts - +52
7\. Dragons - 29pts - +118

Rd 25
Cowboys V Sharks
Tigers V Titans
Dragons V Warriors

In Rd 25, most likely the Cowboys will beat the Sharks. Best case for the Tigers is to beat the Titans by more than the Cowboys beat the Sharks.

We also want the Dragons to beat the Warriors. If all this happens, Tigers will be 4th on 32, Cowboys 5th on 32, Dragons 6th on 31, Warriors 7th on 30.

Rd 26
Dragons V Panthers
Tigers V Sharks
Warriors V Cowboys

Most likely Dragons and Tigers get up. This brings the Tigers to 34 (our magic finals number!) and finish in 4th, Dragons to 33 and leaves the Warriors V Cowboys game.
Cowboys win and they finish in 5th on 34 (hopefully less for and against than the Tigers and hence we get a home final). Warriors win, Cowboys and Warriors finish on 32 and we play the Dragons in Week 1.

All make sense?

Hope so.

I know it's gonna be hard for everyone, but the best thing for the Tigers is to cheer on the Dragons this weekend to beat the Warriors!

Unfortunately we need to make the top 4

Assuming that the Broncos end up 3rd, then that leaves either the Dragons, Warriors or Cowboys coming 4th

So if we end up coming 5th then we'd play at either OKI Chokie, Mt Smart or Townsville… all being grounds i'd rather not play at

Coming 6th will see us play the Broncos.

So yeah, 4th is a MUST

all sydney teams have to play home finals at ANZ or SFS dependent on the opponent so Dragons and Manly won't get a graveyard home final at any stage

Agreed Kul. Home final is a MUST. Playing Week 1 in Townsville, Brisbane or Auckland would be extremely tough.

I have us coming 5th on the ladder predictor, playing the Warriors at home, I think that is more than likely unless the Dragons or Cowboys beat them.

In any event, as long as we win our next 2\. We should be playing either the Warriors, Cowboys or Dragons somewhere.

I think The Dragons will beat them this weekend TigerDave and am hopeful the Cowboys beat them as well Cowboys have a pretty good record in NZ over last few years
Tigers v Cowboys 1st week of semis

The dragons have a chance to beat the warriors, but the warriors away record is quite good and shaun johnson their halfback is quick and if the dragons give him space to move in the warriors will run riot on the dragons players.

I suppose the Dragons are due for a win. If they do win and we win well enough, we'll sneak into 4th

I think we'll get into the top four…

We will win our two remaining games. Both the Cowgirls and the Warriors will drop a game each. I don't think for and against will come into it

I think providing we win our last games we will be sweet, whether we finish 4th or 5th,

If we finish on 34, IMO the only team that can beat us to 4th will be the warriors. After the next 2 rounds we will have better for and against than the cowboys if we win 1.

If this happens and we are 5th. The dragons will be 7th, having won 1 from 7 (at best) and 3 from 14, under those circumstances they will not beat Manly, and will be knocked out.

Id also be shocked if both Melbourne and Brisbane lost, I reckon 4th or 5th, win or lose that game we will be into week 2 of the semies.

If we happen to drop one and finish in 6-8, then it will be a hard ask come semies time.

If we do drop one between now and the end i think the first game of the semies is potentially the least troublesome game to lose, maybe

I think we are a definate 4th. Cows and Warriors to drop one each, we will play the Dragons in Week 1.

One thing that I believe is a huge advantage to us that hasnt really received much media coverage is the fact that we get to see it all unfold and know what we have to do. This week we play Monday night after all others have played and next week Saturday night at 7:30pm once again after all the other contenders have played so we know exactly what we have to do. I reckon that is a huge advantage to keep players focussed. To give you a comparison the EPL kick off all of their last round games at the exact same time for a reason.

Not complaining mind you, just think it is a huge advantage in relation to player focus and surprised none of the media outlets or other Clubs supporters are sooking about it.
