Why is this thread in the season 2010 discussion

Why is the moon made of cheese?

Threads like this make me wonder if the game today is as good as it was when I was younger, all the great names being bandied about….I think time can lessen these mortals infallabilitiers, we like to remember them at their best.

Hodgo is my personal fave, along with Skando.
Senter in the early days, Mark O'Neill was a class act off field and gave 110% on it 110% of the time.
Lawrence & Tuiaki...Benji, Farah
Gee I could go on..

Surley we can not go pass Wayne (superman) Pearce. They most determined player ever. Sure he may not have been the most skillful, but he made up for that with, grit, determination, passion, leadership, tenacity, and true Tiger spirit. Then after playing and giving his all, he comes back to coach the next generation. True Tiger. If we aren't talking players, then Laurie Nichol (no words needed)

farah,then daylight second.

benji doesn't get no.1 because of the years wasted on the sidelines.too many years benji didn't give production for his salary.
there is no blame for that, just the way it is.

the investment in farah has paid huge dividends.
when we go through a tough period in a game it always seems like farah is the one igniting us again.
farah gets more ticks as an allround football player than benji at this stage of their careers.

as for balmain,i can never pick one.

I would have agreed prior to last season. Farah simply wasn't up to the same standard as he has played at plus Benji stepped it up. It was close before that but Farah was definitely the better overall & more consistent player. Last year it wasn't close.

I'd love to see them both firing.

I don't go as a far back to be able to judge the era of Junior etc as i came to Oz in 99 and my Tiger life started in 99 - 2000\. From this though and with all that has happened since then for me it's a dead heat so far between Robbie and Benji.

If it were not for Benji's skill, flair and profile our club would struggle to maintain the exposure it has today and as mentioned by others when you see kids, including my own and other players flick passing that is purely down to his influence. He has single handed change the way the game is played today

Robbie is the all star captain that would walk into any team and demands the resepct of each player he leads out. He leads by example (Leichhardt Oval v Cowboys 09) and has shown to dominate his positon.

They are both fantastic club men, role models to aspiring kids always have time for the fans.

Black and Gold through and through.
