Ummm…like ummm thats why I'd like us to sign a first grade forward or two.....a few of those guys arent cutting it

Manly rolled over the top of us....scrambling can only take you so far, it'd be nice to dominate in defense & attack for a change

how much money do you want to tie up with backrowers.
that is our problem now,way too much cap space is tied up in the backrow instead of the fronrow.
i could understand if this was a prop signing, but he is a backrower with a big future.
our big purchase in the backrow was signing ellis last year.
you criticized that signing as well.

Front row is my point.
We seem to be forever talking about "the future"…would be nice to recruit for ''the now'' for a change.

At the time of signing Ellis he didnt impress me with ESL or WC form, it was poor but I did not write him off.

you still have other positions to fill.
if he is one of our best young forwards you sign him and develop him for depth when injuries come.

i know ink,i want a couple of props too.
but there isn't alot of props out there that seem to be worth the 300k plus range alot seem to be going for.
look at 05,we sign a rookie for 220k and we are reaping the benefits.
the other was an established player who had a taste of origin and was a huge flop.
god knows what we paid for him.

hearing us being one of the first teams linked to that other pom at least shows we are looking for a quality prop.and i think it shows just how hard it is to lure a quality nrl prop on reasonable dollars.

Its good to see supporter suppporting the new signing of Simon Dwyer, but as this forum has negative critics who have nothing better to do then criticise positives for the Wests Tigers. Simon well done on your successful appearances and signing for Wests Tigers for the next two years.

Be nice to sign some first grade forwards

Have a look at the back end of the manly game again

Ah k, got it. Thought you were dissing Dwyer as a player and that he shouldnt have been re-signed.

I think we've pretty much got our backline sorted with only one wing spot open. Ryan is still questionable but has a year left on his contract.
1\. Moltzen/Gallant
2\. TNT
3\. Ayshford
4\. Lawrence
5\. _______
6\. Benji
7\. Lui/Moltzen

yet we sign Tupou, Daniella and Brown … would be nice to see some competition for spots in the forwards for once. When was the last time Payne or Payten or Halatau played Reserve Grade? Seems like the only times forwards dont get picked is due to injury and not lack of form. IMO players will become better if they are forced to fight for their spot and constantly push for selection .. not just being dropped to the bench. But yeah, the only additions we've made so far to the forward pack for next year are Schirnack bro's and Dwyer.

Our forward depth was really put to the test this year when Galloway, Gibbs, Heighno and Ellis all spent time on the sidelines through injury. We even had to call in a guy from the office to pull on the boots.

Sheens seems much more likely to bring in forwards from reserves rather than backs eg Mataka, Trimarchi, Schirnack, Dwyer, Skando. When Collis and Lawrence were injured at separate stages, he moved Halatau and Hanbury out to the centres and only after that experiment failed he was forced to try Tagive and Ayshford and wadda ya know, they both perform!
