TOUGH SESSIONS TESTING PLAYERS
16/12/2011 4:14:14 PM

The full-time siren for the first half of pre-season training may be close but there has been little rest for the Wests Tigers NRL summer squad.

For the second time this month, the squad returned to Centennial Park this morning for another gruelling cycling session around the beautiful Sydney landmark.

This time, the players also had the added delight of undergoing another Strongman Challenge - their second since pre-season training started last month.

By the end of the session, the players certainly enjoyed drowning their hard earned thirst with some cold Gatorade G Series drinks. Gatorade is the official hydration partner of Wests Tigers.

Wests Tigers players finish training next Wednesday to enjoy their Christmas break before returning in early January to step up their assault on the 2012 Telstra Premiership.

Would be cool if we got some training stats. Like how fast each player is over 100 meters, how much each can bench press and so forth.

Ad… Ad... I didn't see no ad. Mind you I'm a blind ex ref that can't see my own toes

Those sorts of stats are generally kept in-house among clubs but generally the papers will generally give a brief overview on who the strongest/fastest/fittest players at each club are leading up to the season kickoff.

Wud love an update on how BMM has been going in the off season if anyone knows. If his attitude has been good then he could be an x factor for us

I have got some time off work coming up in the next couple of weeks and wouldn't mind going and watching a couple of training sessions.
Anyone know when the best days and times are to go and have a look ?

They train Monday Tuesday Thursday and Friday. They start with a weights session backs and Forwards alternate between 8am and 9am starts.
The afternoon session is probably best as they do field fitness work starting around 1.00pm.
Then if you really got nothing to do you can hang round and watch the NYC they kick off at 4.00 pm.

Cheers B&W

Will be interesting to see how the boys are shaping up and yeh, I'll probably make an afternoon of it and watch the U20s

Thanks again
