All this talk about Tim Sheens facing the chop at the Wests Tigers is beyond me - I still think he is the best coach in the game.

He's second to none not only in terms of how he reinvigorates the game, but also the manner in which he keeps up with changes in the game. A great example is how he had the Tigers playing when we won the comp back in 2005\. Now everyone plays that way.

If anyone can rebuild the club it's Tim. He's been around coaching for such a long time. Even though we didn't have success this year, I still feel he is the man for the job.

Put it this way, if I was the CEO or on the board of any club, the only reason I'd change the coach would be if there was someone better - I don't feel there's anyone better.

The people who say he's grown stale being at the same club for a long time don't see what he does with us - every week at training, Tim pulls out something new. We're practising things that he gives us the confidence to do, like me with flick passes, so that when we're in a game situation, they'll come off.

In terms of the respect of the players, on and off the field, he still has it in spades at the Tigers and I don't see that changing.

He always drums into us that the most talented players don't make it in the NRL because their attitude is not right. He keeps us on our toes.

We are all disappointed we're not in the finals. At the start of the year we didn't expect to be feeling sorry for ourselves at this time of year and I think we owe our fans an apology for the way our season turned out. As players, we expected better.

We have big expectations on ourselves and we not only let ourselves down, but the coach, the club and the fans.

It was the players' fault. The coach gave us great game plans all season, but our execution let us down. We were way too inconsistent.

We know, deep inside, that we were good enough to make the finals. But the hardest part is the simple fact that we weren't successful.

A lot of things didn't go our way, with injuries and Robbie Farah's mother tragically dying knocking us all around, but we can't blame anyone but ourselves. It just wasn't our year. It's a hard one as we weren't far off where we wanted to be all year but, in the end, we were so far away.

It's the usual thing at this time of year for the teams that didn't make it - you look back at the games you could have or should have won. We lost to Souths in extra time when Greg Inglis kicked a field goal and there was the game a couple of weeks ago against the Dogs which they also won in golden point.

Looking ahead to next year, the good thing for the club out of this season is we've unearthed some stars of the future in Aaron Woods, Curtis Sironen and Marika Koroibete.

We've also got a few new players coming in. I can't wait for Braith Anasta to come over from the Roosters, it will be great. I'd be happy if he played halfback and I can go back to five-eighth. I think that'd suit my game and his. I'd have a bit more room to move and he could do a lot of the organising, which is what he's been doing all his career anyway. His experience in big games will also help us out a lot.

I just want to get on the training field so we get back to where we want to be next year. I know we can be a lot better in 2013 - and I know changing the coach is not the answer

I can't tell the difference between this article and the last one before the Storm game. Same excuses and resolution. Come on Benji.

Inb4 everyone brings up "Sheens is up to date with the game." And "2005 flick pass". Done and dusted Benji. Other teams aren't playing like us, they just know how to beat the same bag of tricks.

I know we CAN be a lot better in 2013".

Not WILL.

But at least they practice the flick pass. That's why Benji is the flick pass king.

We sought of got an apology.

I don't think Tim will be going anywhere. But I have hope inspite of this as Anasta came to us through Sheens ( I think ) so let if be. Adjournment till May 2013\. Review. Then decision on Sheens future.

that was 7 years ago, we had a halfback and a fullback as well.

The people who say he's grown stale being at the same club for a long time don't see what he does with us - every week at training, Tim pulls out something new.

Yet it's the same stuff on the field every weekend…..

We're practising things that he gives us the confidence to do, like me with flick passes, so that when we're in a game situation, they'll come off.

Except not a lot has been working well during the actual game....

It was the players' fault. The coach gave us great game plans all season, but our execution let us down. We were way too inconsistent.

Really? the whole thing was the players fault? The coach constantly shuffling around the backline and playing players out of position certainly wouldn't help with consistency.

oh boy, yeah look, we know Benji is not going to come out and bag the coach, but honestly

"the most talented players don't make it if their attitudes not right". Can't he see that the most talented team didn't make the 8 because their attitude wasn't right. Instead of coaching flick passes will Sheens ever Coach aggression and desire in defence. We are in a heap of trouble next year.

This just pushes the point further that Sheens needs to go. You don't think there's anyone better out there Benji? How on earth would you know? You've only ever had the one club coach.

Based solely on what I just read I think it's time for both sheens AND benji to go. I don't reckon one can exist without the other.

If Benji loves Sheens more than he loves the club then I wouldn't want him playing here. If he wants out with sheens then there's no point standing in his way.

Contradicted himself with the part about the attitude not being right. There were several games this year where the attitude stayed at home. Not sure I agree with the "keeps us on our toes" part either, given Ayshford and Blair both survived the season without being dropped.

Oh well, hope Benji is right and the Tigers do improve in 2013, although 9th spot won't be acceptable.

The thing I find interesting is that Robbie, the club captain, hasn't t said a word about his coach..the only player who seems to be beating the drum is Benji. I wonder why?

Well during the week that we were vsing storm i saw Benji Robbie and Liam having a laugh on fox sports news so yeh not sure why he didnt defend the coach yet. Mabe because what happend during last year.

So where does Benji stand if a new coach comes in and he stands by his comment of 'there is no better coach'?

In exactly the same place most of the posters on this forum will be standing if next season, under Tim Sheens the Wests Tigers win the premiership.

Living in the confines of a very awkward post code :unamused:

And here was I thinking after last Saturday thank god I don't have to listen to their crap anymore!!!

Wish they would all just shut up.

:blah :blah :blah

He's gotta get them in the 8 first. His record of 3/10, hmm I'm tipping no Premiership for us in 2013.

These guys are in denial ,and they seem to think a few words by them is all that is needed to sway our minds .Its fine live in denial ,but unless changes are made big time , not much is going to change in the future

Nothing changes

Nothing changes

Nothing changes

Benji is very narrow minded, and it shows in that his game hasnt progressed, in fact its regressed.
Hard to respect and support this attitude

Hey Benji - no mention of the pitiful performances against the Roosters (twice) and Newcastle? Games where we just basically rolled over and hoisted the white flag?
The attitude of the majority of the players seems to stink, there is no fire, passion or commitment to dig in when times are tough out on the field. Until this changes we ain't ever gonna amount to anything other than flashy pretty boys who would prefer to look flashy and lose as opposed to doing whatever it takes to win.

Our culture is stuffed
