Bloody awesome comeback too after being down 24 zip they've run in 44 unanswered points.
 
good win, puts them back in the 8 with the Eels and Storm to come, both of whom are on the bottom of the table. Hopefully the Titans will lose against the Roosters next week to help guarantee a spot
 
WESTS TIGERS BEAT PENRITH 44-24 IN U20S

Wests Tigers recorded an amazing 44-24 victory over Penrith Panthers at Campbelltown Sports Stadium today in round 23 of the Toyota Cup competition.

The win moves Wests Tigers onto 26 points to keep their finals hopes alive with three matches remaining.

Wests Tigers Coach Grant Jones made several changes to the team. Full-back Jake Mullaney was ruled out after injuring his hamstring again at training. Mullaney was due to return today. Sama Sauvao moved from the wing to full-back.

Limoni Kamuta replaced Tim Simona at centre with Joel Jackson coming onto the wing for Sauvao.

Curtis Sironen, the son of Balmain legend Paul Sironen, started the game at five-eighth for Bodie Clarke.

Ben Murdoch-Masila and Sam Stanford were added to the bench alongside Ethan Tafili and Tim Simona.

Penrith opened the scoring in the fourth minute with a try out wide to five-eighth Wade Graham.Full-back Matthew Moylan converted the try for a 6-0 lead.

The Panthers stretched their lead to 12-0 when prop Kyle Fraser scored in the 14th minute. Moylan converted the try.

The Panthers went to a 16-0 lead when Graham crashed over for his second try. Moylan converted the try for an 18-0 lead.

A minute later, the Panther split the Wests Tigers up the middle with second-rower Jake Grace offloading an inside ball to five-eighth Blake Austin to score under the posts. Moylan converted the try for a 24-0 lead.

Wests Tigers opened their account in the 33rd minute when Ben Murdoch-Masila crashed over in the right corner for a 24-4 scoreline. Sama Sauvao failed to convert the try.

A minute later, winger Joel Jackson showed his pace when he planted the ball down in the same corner for a 24-8 scoreline. Sauvao converted from the sideline for a 24-10 scoreline.

The tryscoring continued when half-back Liam Ayoub finished off a backline play to score 10 metres from the post in the 39th minute.

Sauvao converted the try for a 24-16 scoreline at half-time.

2ND Half

Wests Tigers got off to the perfect start when Murdoch-Masila found open space 20 metres out and used his size and strength to crash over next to the posts. Sauvao converted the try for a 24-22 scoreline after 44 minutes.

Wests Tigers gained the lead for the first time when winger Faleula Finau took a sharp pass from dummy half to dive over in the far left corner to score for a 26-24 lead. Sauvao failed to convert the try.

Centre Jake Clarke gave Wests Tigers a 30-24 lead when he dived over in the left corner after a good backline raid.

A fine grubber kick by half-back Liam Ayoub in behind the defence saw Jackson pounce on the ball to score for a 34-24 lead.

Clarke then dived over in the opposite corner three minutes later for a 38-24 lead after 69 minutes.

Wests Tigers all but secured victory when Clarke showed some fancy footwork to step past the tiring defence to score again for a 42-24 lead. Sauvao converted the try for a 44-24 lead.

Wests Tigers scored 44 unanswered points to run down Penrith.
