A bit like most social media......fantasy until the truth comes out.....
I’d rather we give Fitzgibbon or Gebbie a shot before this nuffie
Gebbie playing Flegg atm lol and Fitzgibbon has a good game on the weekend, but not close to first grade! You boys complain about Talau, but want dudes who aren’t kicking down the door in reserves just because they have speed lol
Fitzgibbon is on the way up and is such an exciting talent he attracts interest, just like JAC did at our club. DWZ has been let go from two clubs and is on a downer. As a development club, buying him sends all the wrong signals to our young players. It's also tactically better to let him stay at the Dogs to frustrate their player acquisitions.
As for Gebbie, unless you have spent time in PNG, it is difficult to understand the adjustment process necessary for PNG nationals. The Olam story is good to listen to for background.
With regards to Fitzgibbon, how Melbourne are able to keep players with high potential, despite not having them in FG, is to pay them overs to play reserve grade. It's rumoured that Harry Grant was being paid a handsome contract for a reserve grader. That way the player doesn't get too disgruntled if they can't crack firsts. It also shows the club is committed to them.
