So you will have to watch the Tigers grand final win on tv.

Looking forward to doing another motorcycle trip in the north of India, hopefully this August - September.
We did 4,000k's on Enfield Bullets skirting the Himalayas a couple of years ago - Dehli to Shimla, Spiti Valley, Keylong, Leh, Hunder, Pangong Lake, Srinigar, Killar - Kishtwar Rd (cliffhanger road), Sachs Pass, Dalhousie and back to Dehli. Never seen such beautiful scenery in my life.
Heaps of videos of the trip @ https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCTENPajsta3N8Hn8GLlwa3A (Warning - motorcycles and roads prevail along with unbelievable scenery.)

Have you been around Australia on your bike?
Great places to see that are not accessible by car.
Keep your money in our country and create a better economy for those who are doing it tough, especially in rural and outback communities.

I've seen parts but getting anywhere remote takes so long and is quite expensive.

I've trecked my around Australia but because of injuries I can't anymore. It's worth doing.
I was single back then so I can imagine the cost would be greater if you had a partner.

I won't be visiting WA or QLD any time soon. NSW and VIC we treated like pariahs during their outbreaks, so I'll keeping my local tourist dollars in NSW or VIC.

Hoping Japan open their borders again in the next 12-18 months.

They are already open - my wife is visiting her mother atm. The rules re isolation and proof of vaccination and testing pre-departure and post-arrival are a little tricky though. Jetstar had $429 return specials two days ago from the Gold Coast - my wife grabbed one to visit her Mum again in November.

I think they're only open to particular visa exemptions, not general tourism

No, it's to all as far as I know but you have to follow quarantine protocols which are a bit silly. She also said they are about to announce a relaxation of the rules. I could have gone this time but I would have had to stay in a hotel for x number of days because I'm not Japanese. She was allowed to quarantine at her Mums.

In new south wales,a great trip for a week is broken hill- might take a while to get there depending on where you are located but a truly unique place with a fascinating history.

While you are in Singapore spend half a day in the Botanic Gardens well worth it.

Over 30 years ago but I did Singapore to Thailand by bus. One of the scariest trips of my life - the bus would overtake at any opportunity if there was a gap in the traffic of around 100 metres.
Still great countries to go - I see you're going to Ko Samui - it's only a short ferry trip to Ko Pha Ngan from there. It used to have a lot less tourists and great 'Moon' parties. The bay is so pretty with crystal clear water. We went for a swim out to a small fishing boat anchored in the bay - they let us dive from the boat into the water and gave us a free feed of blue swimmer crabs because they thought we were funny.

I enjoyed holidays in both QLD and WA during 2021 without any problems when covid wasn't prevalent in the southern states and had no problem with them protecting their communities until sufficiently vaccinated. Was in the cyclone damaged Kalbarri on this day last year.

Heading up to see the upper NT next month and intend poking into the north-east of WA whilst there, then off to Tasmania in January. That will leave only the Pilbara and north to Broome and surrounds beyond as the pocket that will complete my travel wants across/around the nation. Never had the want to see the mostly barren north-western SA and adjacent areas just over the borders there.

Booked flights for our first post-covid international trip, being to Thailand in November and will likely pop over for a quick visit to one of their neighbouring countries depending on restrictions at the time. Want to see more of Myanmar, but still unsure of returning there in the last several years since the junta tightened control.

I have a very similar story set in 1989.
I was on one of those buses, about 1.5hrs into a 7hr trip when we overtook another bus with a truck coming straight at us. The bus we overtook kept on the throttle, whilst the truck held its line. All 3 of us touched as we passed with bits of mirror and siding scattering all over the road. All drivers continued on like nothing happened.
I spent New Years Eve on Ko Pha Ngan and in the early hours I hooked up with an Irish lass and we sat on the beach watching a copper, pissed beyond reason fire his revolver at the waves.

SE Asia is very touristy and tame now compared to those days. It used to be wild as all hell.
