I agree. Trick is, which one? I genuinely am not sure which one, probably Moltzen. Hope we guess right and keep the right one or two. Cant keep all of them.

Lui is a 5/8th
Moltzen is a hybrid 5/8th and 1/2
Lazarus is a 1/2

Lazarus is definitely the most adept at playing a traditional halfback role, whilst Lui is most like a genuine ball playing 5/8th. Moltzen is in between, in the fact he has all the skills of a 5/8th yet plays like a halfback in a lot of instances.

If we're planning on playing direct of Farah being our dominant organiser, I don't think Lazarus falls in. However, if we're going to take the pressure of Farah in terms of organising, Lazarus would definitely be the best bet. With our style of play, and as a result of being my favourite player, I'd take Moltzen 😛

Can't see that at all to be honest. Completely different players, Mortimer was extremely overhyped and for no real reason apart from his good support play, which happened to be effective considering Parra's lucky streak of hot potato.

Hodkinson is a consistent, organising halfback with a good kicking game as well as good defence. He'll do well anywhere.

I hope Lazarus is given another genuine shot, this time **at half** to prove himself before they decide who they are going to cut loose. For mine the stats don't argue and Moltzen is clearly the best fit for the role since he's played 8 games for no losses there. Lui is also showing promise though. It will be interesting to see who stays and who goes.

I don't think anyone's playing style is set in stone, especially with the way the 7 and 6 is played today. From what I remember, Johnathan Thurston used to be a 5/8th too.

I like all 3 guys, and with the way I perceive that they are viewed by other teams at the moment, I can't see why we won't keep all 3 and pick the best of the bunch. Lazarus won't cost much, either will Lui unless he starts killing it.

Yeah, if you put it that way for sure. The game's certainly developed to a more right/left half for most teams, us, the Storm and a few others being exceptions.

btw, I still think Thurston is a 5/8th. He, like Benji definitely play their best football there but find themselves at first receiver way too often. Thurston plays like a halfback, but isn't a very good halfback, lacks the organisational skills. Definitely more of a 5/8th, and the best in the world when he plays theere.
