Trent Robinson

They lose Teddy to Origin and he's replaced by Manu at fullback.
Compared to if we lost Bula he'd be replaced by Staines.
Just think about that for a moment
He has talent at his disposal that our fans only dream about yet they limped into the finals last year and now sit mid table with the Bulldogs, Dragons and Knights.
Premierships arent won at this time of year.

I really like Dom Young. Reminds me of a NBA player who fully backs himself. Doesn't always get it right but at least he is out there having a go and backing himself 100%.

I think he backs himself in ridiculous situations. The amount of times I've said he's gonna stuff and he does is more then most wingers. Huge talent, just a dumb footy player.

I can't believe he still has the job. Average coach.

I actually think he is a good coach. On paper he has a very good side, but a few of his big names are starting to slide and he has some real egos to keep in check. If they finish top five and have a fit squad they will give it a shake. I guess it is really hard to judge any coach while they stay at one club , and a club that has deep pockets

I'm basing it on them having objectively the most expensive team on the open market every year.
If Bennett or Bellamy coached under the sombrero they'd be heading for their 12th straight grand final. Bellamy's already proven what he can do with an extended salary cap.

I seem to recall (Maybe 2-3 seasons ago) them marching into the Finals with a heap of reserve graders
Hutchinson and Lam were the halves (Might have been when Manu got his face smashed in)

How many players have signed there after just talking to Trent Robinson?
Plenty of the names bought up here have come through Grade under Trent Robinson.

There's literally 5-6 coaches in the game that walk into any club,
And he's one of them.....

The rest are just making up the numbers.

Bellamy takes fringe players and turns them into role playing winners. Robinson takes stars and can't develop them any further.
Brandon Smith has crashed.
Dom Young is crashing.
He turned young Flanagan into a joke and yet Flanagan Senior has turned him back into the player that arrived at the Roosters.

This is an interesting thought and I'd have to agree. I can't think of too many players it's obvious Robinson has improved. As you have said, some have gone backwards. It's a myth Tedesco improved. He had parts of his game improve over time through pure maturity, but one of his biggest assets at the Tigers went missing after about a year at the Roosters and that was is his ball playing. He set up many tries at the Tigers through cut out passes to the winger and that went to crap at the Roosters.

He has never got the negative play out of top line players like JWH and Radley. Tupou, after years of up and down footy, rumours of being on the outer etc has only just got consistent. I'd argue that's on his own maturity, not Robinson.

Pearce didn't develop one bit as a half, but instantly improved in a weaker team at Newcastle.

It's amazing Robinson has survived years of under achieving with such a roster.

As you said Bellamy has a long standing consistent track record of improving players, throw in Bennet with that too. I'd argue Brad Arthur has been able to do ok in this area as well.

Who cares it is the Roosters, no fan base, junior club raider from north to south.
If the miss the finals who really cares.

Agree Brandon Smith has not been the same player since moving from Melbourne
Playing him as a hooker only has changed his running game immensely
He spent more time as a running lock with Harry G playing hooker at Melbourne.

Dom Young one game not up to his usual performance, is having a very good year.

Let’s just say Kyle Flanagan is lucky Daddy is his coach this year as Robinson hasn’t been the only coach that didn’t think he was up to NRL standard.
