the first thing that I noticed is how well Sheens has developed these players in just the one preseason. imagine what these boys look like with (hopefully) a full season and another preseason. credit to Moussa and his staff for getting the side in shape as well, haven't looked this fit in a long time.
Simpkin was our best yesterday for mine. picked his moments brilliantly, tackled everything that moved and was great to see him thread the needle for Matamua to score.
Doueihi has learnt to control his bombs and his long kicking game has gone to another dimension. the 40/20 was proof of that. also was far better in terms of going deeper into the line to create space for his outside men, ala for Blore who set up Staines.
Talau and Naden are different players, but both looked great in attack. Talau runs lines and breaks tackles at will with early ball. Naden will suck in two defenders and flick the ball out. clearly been working on their strengths for the last few months.
Twal's developed an offload. Blore can pass(!). Kepaoa has come along in leaps and bounds. Klemmer has become a link man. excited to see what he's managed to do for Brooks and Ofahengaue come Round 1.
