Parra junior, played with Stefano all through the lower grades.

Same age group as Stefano, so not too young; 22/23.

Played 20 games for Maggies in NSW Cup last year, from what I saw I thought he was a strong runner but didn’t have a big work-rate which led to sloppy defence at times.

But apparently he improved later in the NSW Cup year and must’ve had a big pre-season.

don't see Fainu at the club past this year. plenty of good middles coming through SG Ball and Flegg that will take up top 30 spots.

KR I'm going to print out all your posts about the trial game and the players to watch so I have some idea what and who to look out for.
😉👍

Thanks KR ...or should I call you Darling Downs

I was wondering what members thoughts are on this.....
Traditionally, the first trial game is similar to what we are doing against the Warriors. Give the fringe dwellers a run, not just to give them the chance to prove themselves but also because we might need them later in the year, Feledy is a prime example.
I get all that, but I'm thinking, why not put your best side out there in trial 1 and hopefully win the game which would be good for the club and the supporters morale.
You then go back to a side similar to what is being put on the park against the Warriors for the second trial. This gives the best side a week to get over any niggling injuries before round 1.
If there were something not quiet right with combinations in the first trial it can be tinkered with for say 20min in the second trial then rest them.
🤔

There’s two weeks between second trial and round 1.
It would have been interesting to see our top side smash the Warriors, collect all bonus points and put us in a good position to win the pre season challenge and collect the prize money.

Would probably need both clubs to agree to do it.

Sheens would've been in contact with Webster over the past few weeks discussing "what strength" side he'll pick so the other club does similar and they get a competitive hitout.

The prize money on offer isn't enough IMO.

Teams used to get more money for the Nines and they still wouldn't send most of the big names.

Well I didn't factor that in Tuck.
I just think that you put your best team out there in trial 1 and that gives you more time at training to iron out glaring faults frior to round 1.
As I said, you still could put out a combination that had troubles in trial 1 into trial 2 for 20min to sort it out.
The way it is, if trial 2 is a shambles it puts the coach and the team under the pump to sort it out for round 1.
Also the stupid media will jump on us regardless if it was full of KOE players 🤣

Really????
It's suppose to be a competition worth a whopping 100k 🤣
I can't see the logic in what your saying, do you mean if one coach want to play tag the other agrees 🤣 crazy.

$100k for 2 games is most definitely worth it.
You only get $200k for winning the minor premiership.
Not having a crack at that money is foolish.

I saw James late in the season and I was impressed. I remember I was looking forward to seeing Tumeth and Boyling, came away impressed by James and A Saukuru. James ran the ball very hard and looked like a first grader to me.
