They referred it to cut gut but I think that was just a term, wait I'll google it.........
Gut strings on tennis racquets are not made from cat gut. The myth that natural gut tennis strings come from cats is false. To make gut strings, cow intestines are used instead of cat intestine. Tennis players have been using guts from cows for years without any problems.
I knew it was called cat gut, but you were closer to the truth than me Browny 👍
