True test awaits Benji and his mates
Half-back Benji Marshall says his team-mates will get a true indication of where they stand when they face the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs at ANZ Stadium this Friday night.
The Bulldogs sit four points clear on top of the ladder and will be looking to make it 12 straight wins against the eighth-placed Wests Tigers.
Marshall says his side has been building slowly towards the finals over the past few weeks and whilst pleased with the grinding win over the Dragons, knows his team-mates must step up another level against the Bulldogs.
“It’s a tough challenge but you get to test yourself in the best in the competition and get a good gauge on where you are at,’’ Marshall said.
“We are building confidence over the last couple of weeks with our wins. The Bulldogs will be high on confidence as well. If we can limit the opportunities in our half, it will go a long way towards us winning.”
Marshall said the Bulldogs forward pack had been the benchmark of the competition which has laid the platform for full-back Ben Barba to produce his magic.
The Kiwi international added he has been impressed with his own forwards in 2012 headed by Aaron Woods, Keith Galloway and Chris Heighington.
“I’m very confident in our ability. We just need to put it together on the field,'' Marshall added.
