Absolutely crushing news.
I wish Taniela all the best in his life after football and wish him every success in the path he decides to take.

Yes…well put.
Good luck nella

Such a big loss for all tigers supporters, Such an even bigger loss for Nella, The man with the gold tooth, To us TNT you are GOLDEN, Best wishes mate, You are a true tiger !!!!

i ventured on to the boards over summer primarily to read the latest on taniela's progress….this really is sad.

i feel for the big guy, definitely one of my favourite players of recent years.

we will miss u tank.

Really gutted for the big guy, massive loss for the Tigers but more importantly for the man himslef. For a guy that has given his all for the club to have his livelihood taken from him as he was just hitting his prime is really dissapointing.

Im so happy that the club is hepling him find a career after footy, but I wouldnt expect anything else from a club that looks after it's own. Good luck Tui, I hope good fortune finds you in life after footy, you deserve all that you get after all you have given us fans.

So sad that TNT has bowed out to an injury he couldn't recover from, I still have great memories of the Tank's debut against the Warriors in Unzud, Taniela went over as the 18th man and after some one's injury gained a place in the team, on the wing!
Despite always being a backrower TNT dazzled in his debut with 2 tries from a unfamiliar position, a postion he would master and make his home for the next 3 seasons, cut down in his prime unfortunately but his legacy and memory will live on and on, enjoy your retirement Tank and hopefully with the advances in modern sports medicine you'll be back.
You'll be missed by thousands and thousands of fans of our great club. 😢

Old news…...A no brainer really.
Predicted this months ago ,didn't i TREXX....Cogger

from one maggie to another - why you gloating about it. I dont believe this is the end of Tuaki, he will continue to have a great career at Wests Tigers and his life. Its those runs down the sideline that we will miss - poetry in motion. At times he was indestructable. Superior to Tuqiri, and will be/remain in the team of the century as one winger with Wests Tigers after our own deaths. Taniella Tuaki is the James Dean of rugby league. Taniella Tuaki is immortal. Thank you for the memories but it aint over till the fat lady sings.

Heart breaking read

My Boys and I will begin a week of mourning.

We Need / Must have someone from the Jungle immortalise TNT in Banner….

Taniella Tuaki is the James Dean of rugby league. Taniella Tuaki is immortal. .

What a quote. The James Dean of Rugby League.

I AGREE !!!!

Good luck Taniella and stick with us. We will always have your video's and pictures, and we will always remember the opposition wingers sh***ing themselves when you got the ball. The look in their eyes was genuine fear!

Like everyone has said it is devastating news
The tigers will never quite be the same 😢 :bawling

All the best to TNT.Enjoy your life at Allied express hopefully its not as a driver

Everyone I think has already said it all - so I wont add to it.

Just an idea - I personally would like to contribute to buying him a gift of some sort, just as a way of saying thanks for the memories and that as fan's we appreciated your efforts. The Forum mod's could set up a paypall account where those that want to contribute can - what do you think?

Thanks,

Ken

Race is now on to replace TNT.

Ryan, Brown, Daniella, Utai plus all the youngsters.

Full back Half back and the right Wing.

Lots to think about for Coach $heens

He had already been moved to the wing full-time for BRET before his top grade debut leroy!

He started that game from the bench & came on to replace Lolesi (who was in 13) on the wing - Fitzy was our no. 2 - but we had no no.5 that night!!

Other than that you are correct!

In that debut he also saved a try by running down his opposite from behind - but we still lost 34-12!

TANIELA 'THE TANK' TUIAKI...Wests Tiger legend.... :sign:

PS the LIFE of B.RYAN should be fun... :crazy :roll :blah :bash wow cool :rant

So so sad… Even though this was the 99% likelihood outcome, I always hoped for that miracle 1% that he would make a full recovery to his destructive best.

All the best to you, Taniela. You have given us so much. I hope you get it all back with interest in the future!

The Tigers brand name is up their with the strongest in town and TNT had a big hand in getting it up their. He was a excitement machine that we all loved to watch. In the end he was a "cult hero". I remember the day at Cambo he kept trampling Matt Rodgers, and to his credit Rodgers kept throwing his body on the line and TNT kept trampling him. We all think of his massive brute strength but their was much more to his wing play, he was strong under the high ball, good defensibly and he could also pulls some nice little subtle plays every now and again.

Although I never meet the guy, you sensed he was just a really nice guy. Anyway lets hope the Tigers keep behind him to he gets his post football life well and truly up and running

All the best for the future Taniela, I'll miss you trampling the opposition players and that sly "golden" smile after scoring a try.

You will be missed by not only Wests Tigers fans, but all rugby league fans
