Tuqiri V Uate

This should be good!! Both great footballers going head to head.
Tuqiri might be a little underdone coming back from injury but Lote is just a natural all-round athlete and should adapt well on a first-up.
Uate has been in fine form throughout the representative honours thus far.
Can't wait for this huge Fijian match-up!!
Could be a sample of what's to come in Origin II!! :righton:

It's a damn shame they don't play for the Fijian national side, boy they'd rip it up!

I don't expect Tuqiri to come out on top of Uate in his first game back. Uate is in good form and will definitely fancy his chances of getting around Lote.

when these 2 teams met last year , Lote was in great form and was well outplayed by Uate in my opinion, i cant see the outcome being any different this time around with Lote in his first game back, and Uate arguably in even better form this year than last.

hopefully though, like last time, Lote will be on the winning team, and thats what is important.

looking forward to watching them compete, will be a task for Lote coming back from injury, but he is a champion who will enjoy the challenge.

Tuqiri is Uate's hero growing up he has said previously

Yes I remember hearing Uate say this when interviewed, if memory serves me correctly it was when WTs played Newcastle in Newcastle last year.

My respect grew even more after seeing Uate play in Albury. I never realised how much of a composed powerful athlete this guy really is. I pretty much just threw him into the "just another kid with blistering pace" category in the past. This kid is tough. Real tough. Watch him CLOSELY this Monday night guys, and you will see what i mean.

Uate loves Lote.
Spoke to him a few weeks ago, told him he should play for the tigers & he laughed, smiled & said he'd love to be on the same team as Lote but his hearts with Newc.
Nice guy! Loves his movies too, friend of mine works @ video ezy & said he came in and bought $500 worth of movies recently.

:astonished: Now that's a shopping spree!

Both players are quick but if the Knights are going to try to expose a weakness in Lote then it might be his turning speed, especially against Uate. Time will tell.

My only concer on Monday is that the Knights have genuine pace and If they get past our defensive line Uate etc will be hard to chase down

Yes - will be a worry if they break our line .
We've only got two guys with real speed - Marshall and Moltzen.
Hopefully the line holds or they might be in for a busy night.

Yeah I am sure Lote is experienced enough to not let Uate have room to move - cos he is quick and strong. Whilst Uate may worship Lote it means nothing come Monday night.

I think we have our own Uate in our U20s winger in Korobiate…(sorry if i got the spelling wrong). He's a mighty talent. I will be there at Leichardt on Monday night. But I really don't think it will come down to whichever of Tiquiri or Uate wins the battle. Our forwards need to dominate and let our Robbies (Lui and Farah) and Benj etc have some room to do their stufff. Hoping for the start of the revival.

Probably sent the movies back home.
