I've written a show for the ABC that will be on later this year called the Straits. A crime show about a smuggling family in the Torres Strait starring Brian Cox (deadwood) and Rena Owen (once were warriors). It should be good, check it out.

Wow, congrats, fulleighty! We have a famous person among us :astonished:

Thats pretty amazing Fulleighty .Most definitely will Please let us know when it gets closer Congratulations on your success Have you written anything previously ??

Sounds pretty cool.

Yeah, the show is called The Straits, as you linked.

Great researching all. And werdly enough it's not an alias but my actual name! Can you imagine how stoked I was when the Tigers signed a bloke with my name (we're related somehow, second cousin I think, although I've never met him). But, you're right - would be an excellent alias. Will let you know when it's on air. Cheers!

Seriously dude? That's amazing! - it's not even that common a name!

SPIELBERG’S FALLING SKIES ARRIVES ON FOXTEL JULY 7, 2011
June 16, 2011 | Australian TV News

The highly anticipated Falling Skies, the new scifi series from Steven Spielberg, will be fast tracked to Foxtel soon after its US debut on the 19th June. It will begin on Fox8 on July 7\. Starring Noah Wyle and Moon Bloodgood the ten part series gets all post apocalyptic on us and begins in the aftermath of a devastating alien attack that has wiped out much of the Earth’s population. Survivors are now beginning to band together and begin the monumental task of fighting back.

Leading the way is Boston history professor Tom Mason (played by Wyle) who has been left a widow and faced with having one of his sons captured by the aliens. Mason starts a resistance movement that also includes Tom’s oldest son Hal (played by Drew Roy) and pediatrician Anne Glass (Bloodgood).

Mixing elements of Survivors and V and recent movies like Battle: Los Angeles, Falling Skies promises to be hugely exciting.

The series is executive produced by Spielberg and was also co-created by him with Robert Rodat (who also wrote the script for Spielberg’s Saving Private Ryan).

Falling Skies will air on Foxtel’s Fox8 Channel from July 7 2011.

Yeah Alien that looks amazing. Will check it out. Am halfway through the first series of Treme, the drama from the creator of the Wire, about life in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. It's a little all over the place, doesn't have the same insistent crime story as the Wire, but the music is amazing.

I'm watching two series at the moment as i travel to and from the office.

"Game of Thrones " => Jury is still out

and

"How I met your Mother", always hear really good things about this one, Season 1 Ep05 so far. OK to date

if you missed episode 1 of Falling Skies you can watch it (and most of episode 2) here:

Man I love The Wire….by far the best drama ever conceived.
It is so close to perfection that I think it may as well be called that.

Falling Skies - Episodes 1-3 are decent, they show glimpses of potential , but its episode 4 where the show kicks in on another level & it really gets interesting.

My recommendation is a new show called - 'Suits'..

Classy, clever & very likeable! 10/10 show after 3 episodes.

Ep 4 has already aired in the US. Im sure you can work the rest out

The first 2 episodes of _Falling Skies_ is on Fox 8 again right now. :sunglasses:

Falling Skies episode 5 was very average.. So much for my expectations after the 4th episode.. I'll keep watching but i hope they can come up with something special considering the repeatative storyline & cheesy drama.

my 2 recommendations:

Suits: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1632701/

The Shadow Line: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1701920/
