TV's..

I have a 2018 Sony 75" 4K LCD. Upgrade from 42" Samsung and the extra size is great.

As far as sound is concerned I think a dedicated surround sound system beats a sound bar every day.

Have an old Onkyo TX-SR606 7.1 Channel system setup and it is house shaking loud.

We have a Sumsung 65" OLED 4K Ultra HD smart TV…works great in our unit…sit about 2m away…

Geo Samsung doesn't make OLED TV panels, they make QLEDs? Edit: what mike said.

Correct ... I have the 65” Samsung QLED

The Q is Samsung’s version of OLED

Amazing picture quality

That’s what Samsung would like you to believe. Not even close.

I’m very happy with the product ...
Seems you payed overs for the same quality ?

I'm betting Geo went beta as well ....and remote with the cord still .....please

No remote just a broom stick or the kids. ???

Actually that's my only qualm..the remote packed it in and only works from time to time..stupid thing..they want $80 for a new one..

But it was easily solved by downloading the Samsung Smart TV app to my phone..to turn on and off....

Have Fox IQ4..so watch everything thru that FTA etc etc..

batteries ...try some

65 inch QLED samsung in my house.

Dolby Atmos sound system (ATMOS is great)

Atmos is great and particularly so with a good mix. As I have written elsewhere, the audio is just as, if not more important for me. As such today I received a Sony 75X9500G, which, whilst not an OLED, is the best of others and has an incredible processor for background clarity. Most importantly though, it has EARC capabilities, so I can return Atmos through HDMI return.

Geez, that is a huge size upgrade as you could probably flip three of the old style on edge and fit them in the new screen. My new one is still in it's box and I will probably set it up on the weekend, after I sort out cabinet issues.

The audio is just so important for me, as it excites the other senses, with a pair of (or more) decent subwoofers really taking it to another level for tracks that go down towards 20hz and sometimes even lower, for a full body experience. A sound bar, even if you spend thousands chasing some realism, just doesn't cut it for me and particularly so when one can get a lot better experience with wireless rear systems readily available. I would much prefer a simple pair of front speakers, or preferably with a centre, than going the bar option.

I also have an Onkyo powering one of my systems in a 7.2 bedroom setup of Dali's with unmatched subs that go down to 19 and 22hz respectively. It is a later model HTR695 (TX NR656 by another name) with Atmos/DTS:X etc which I cannot utilise in that configuration, but the amount of technology and musical punch that company provides at a cheap price is amazing.

In our living room we have a quality Jamo 5.3.2 speaker, Sony 65in box and Atmos receiver setup. The lounge room is my best room acoustically and that is filled with an Aaron 5.4.2 speaker, Sony 65in box and Pioneer Atmos receiver setup.

We've got a Samsung in the main room and a Hisense cheap in the second TV room for the Xbox. Personally I can see the difference but it's not as massive as it used to be. Samsung make a nice TV and the smart hub is great.

I have a 50 “ Panasonic 3D plasma, with Onkyo surround, I know now that 3D didn’t take off , but I got sucked in lol

LG 65 OLED with Samsung Dolby Atmos sound bar, upgraded from Pioneer 50 plasma, which is now the kids TV

I hate watching movies and having to turn the sound up to 100 to hear the talking, but as soon as some music plays or some special fx the whole neighbourhood can hear it 😂
I don’t remember older tvs having that problem lol
In saying that I can barley tell the difference in picture quality when I’m at jb hi fi checking them all out
They all look dope 😎

Yeah, well that is why my new one is still in the box tonight, as the leg width is the one important issue that I neglected. Missed by that much.
