$400k a year is overs for Peachey. He's literally just as good as Mbye and will probably take a bench spot over one of our young players.

So we're paying $400k for Mbye to play at Dragons and $400k to sign peachey.... we should've just kept Mbye.

Those younger players had their chance when we got flogged 38 to Nil by the team coming last. Throwing kids into Ist grade too early does not help their confidence and does more harm than good. We need experience and versatility, and Peachy fits that profile. Getting rid of MBye was always a dumb move and for what, a saving of $50k or $100k.

We're saving 400k on M'Bye. Basically Peacheys wage and gaining a player that has a heart and isn't a dressing room cancer

What evidence is there that Mbye is a dressing room cancer?

Well if I was in a workplace and the bloke earning more than pretty much everyone else was a passenger, and never putting in for the cause. It'd smash my morale. Can't imagine the rest of the squad feeling different

Seemed to be the only one talking when the Storm gave it to us this year.

If this is the Mbye replacement then i think it's a good move. Offers more than Mbye, covers multiple positions and for those having a crack about him being 30.......this isn't 1965 where you retired at 30 and went and got a job. Players often play their best football between 28-32. They may slow a little but they are usually a lot better between the ears. Certainly not our saviour, but there will be enough utility value there for it to be justified.

Can talk all he wants. He still was backtracking in the defensive line and actively avoiding contact

Tyrone Peachey is on the move to Wests Tigers next season.

After three seasons with the Gold Coast Titans, Peachey is poised to return to Sydney after agreeing to terms on a two-year-deal with the Tigers.

The Roar understands the deal is worth around $800,000 with an official announcement imminent.

One of the most versatile players in the game, Peachey has been identified by the Tigers as a ball playing lock.

If we have signed Peachey for $400k a season that will do me. He has showed nothing for a few years now .

Sure sign him on $250-300k but geez $400k is a fair whack. So much for not paying overs

The reality is though if we don’t sign some new players with experience we’re simply giving what we already have a big pay rise. Some one said it a day or so back, we have to sign some players and there’s not many available and even fewer who want to come here.To me this is about as good a signing as we can get. Experienced and versatile and can still make things happen in a game.

The position of only wanting to sign Munsters, Trobojevic’ and the like is not gonna happen. Baby steps is our only way currently with the stench of this place.

This isn’t a baby step if its 400k for a player who can’t cement a position and has been ordinary for a few years. He would have zero sway in the player market.
He just replaces Mbye/Walters. I have no issue with Peachey coming and he would be a step up on who he replaces, its the 400k if true I have an issue with.

I think Peachey might be a tad better than Mbye and an absolute crapload better than Walters. And he’s on less than half what Mbye was on. What the club has to pay for a crap decision regarding Mbye is irrelevant to decisions made going forward.

Untapped talent there utilising him as forward is key

None of this halves and centre crap.

People going on about how we need experience, but it's about leadership not experience

A versatile player who can cover halves, lock it centre. Hopefully Madge can also lift his fitness and at the right price he seems a great fit.

What Wests tigers currently need is a solid player who can play a variety od positions in the forwards and backline.. The club also needs better tacklers in the backline/forwards. Peachey is not a star but I believe that he mees the current urgent requirements of Wests Tigers.

Based on the numbers he’s effectively replacing Mbye given we’re chipping in for him next year. I’m okay with that because Mbye came here to cruise, can only hope Peachey does not.

Peachy is a gun and will go into another gear being at a awesome club like Tigers.

As soon as he puts on that black and gold jerseys he will become a star.

He'll look to the back and see the weapon, Laurie. Carving up.

Then see the young gun pack with stand outs like Twal, Stef and Seyfarth all running over opposition.

Then AD choppin 40/20s from all over the palace.
He will feel like a super human within a team that plays to his strengths and respects his character as well as his playing ability.

Go Tigers !!

Thanks. We do need experience.......and leadership, so i guess they got it half right. Depends who else they have in mind to bring here. Still Peachey can offer great value, it's up to Madge and the assistants whoever they turn out to be to get that out of him.

He is 30yrs old - are you comfortable with the reported 400k price tag per year?

We all know your you are 1000% against him and if your right you will get a "well player Sir" and credit where its due but we need to at at least give him a shot as its better then what we currently have and the young guys are not up to 25 rounds of footy yet. He is the perfect 14 who can cover multi positions at this stage with no AD and Mbye gone

I don't believe that will be the final salary.. We have been excellent over the last 18 months for not overpaying and reports are it is lower then that over the 2 years. If we sign the @THE_POM may confirm for us

I hope we haven’t just done a panic buy.
Peachey at the right coin is a very good pickup for us.
Play him at lock, Hastings at halfback, Brooks at 5/8th and AD center and all of a sudden across the park we do look stronger.

Peachey does play left side most the time which is the same side that Hastings, Brooks and Laurie tend to favor so will be interesting to see how cramped that side becomes
