Seriously - Peachey would be almost better than most of our side in most positions
Bar wing and prop maybe...
If we can get him sub $400, He fills a lot of gaps... and you could argue he'd be a better centre than anyone we've had in the last 10 years or so...

Chris Lawrence?
Tim Simona?

Tim Simona was our last real centre.
Lawrence prior....

Peachy isn't a centre for mine but can play that position if needed.

A position we definitely need to look at and bring the right players through. Hoping Ogden can get a crack as he looks the goods.

I don’t mind him. We need people that can get up off the turd quick for a quick okay the ball. We have too many blokes that are the same. Stefano is real good at it but not many others. Peach is good at it too

Merlot....is that you??

@merlot has become my favourite poster to read on the forum.
Must say I was hugely disappointed not to see him somehow involved (whether it be compiling the questions or providing answers) in the role play, for last week's podcast @cochise @helmesy.
Personally think he would've made a great Sheens or Pascoe.

I'm worried as I am starting to understand his posts.

Lockdown will do that for you

Lockdown has just about broken me today

Hopefully a figure of speech? If you’re in Sydney then you’re in the home stretch. Keep powering on!

That post was a months ago, but was really struggling then

Apologies. I haven’t even had a beer yet…

Don't apologise, you were being supportive.

Yeah.... And?
Lawrence was done at centre 10 years ago - And Simona was a Winger playing centre.

It's true, we've had garbage centres for a long time. One more in Peachey won't hurt.

The thing with Peachey is he can be great, but he can be awful. He's a very hot and cold player, and we already have a whole heap of inconsistent players.

He's not going to improve, he is what he is. He can be lazy, he has brain snaps, but he also has some match winning plays in him.

On under 400 for one year with an option in our favour I'd be ok with it. He's versatile, and a utility like that is needed in all clubs. But there's also a reason no one wants him...

Cmon bro ..we've had 3 ex SOO centres ......Roberts ,Mbye ,Idris

If you hired Peachy, which I strongly wouldnt recommend as he's yet another fringe NRL player in EVERY position he plays...
..youd have to have 24 x one month contracts at the clubs option over each one for 2 years so he thinks he's ALWAYS playing for his next contract!!!
otherwise the first 22 months he dozes off as he did at Panthers and Titans and only comes alive when it counts to pull in another sucker club!
Lets hope i the next sucker club isnt us

Glad I'm not i think haha

Peachey would add something to the side especially in attack and the experience department. Although with limited available roster spots, I would be focusing on a real issues, and that is experienced defenders. Of course you have to be able to find them and than the tricky part..sign them

Simona was definitely a centre.
A bloody good one too

Only when he had a bet on Us to win

To be fair, his betting was just sheer stupidity, I'm pretty sure Tim just had a gambling addiction and couldn't help himself with, from what I understand, were relatively small bets.

I don't think there was any serious questioning or proof that he actually tanked while playing for us or gave any opposition player a leg up.

What was inexcusable was the fact that he ripped off charities to support his gambling habit which was such a shame as I believe the guy was a really talented footy player and as some have previously mentioned, he was the last quality centre that we have had.

Seems to be a pretty apt description of a lot of players we have signed over the years.

Gee you guys are funny ….. who do you think we are likely to sign but a “ fringe first grader,” and hope for some luck.
In our current state …… We are not exactly a Las Vegas of NRL to attract the first class cattle.

I think most people honestly share the same concern about Peachey. But who do we go for, to fill Mbye's spot?
Kepaoa and Doueihi are possibly the only players we have who has covered 1-6.
We also appear to have changed tact in our approach. Nicho Hynes or Connor Watson weren't in our sights and other than CHT from the Warriors, there's really little available. Someone else suggested Will Smith.

Listening to what Brent Read said, are we possibly waiting until Nov in hopes for our utility player?

Everyone is in our sights

No one is looking in our direction ....
