Peachey is no better than Mybe so what's the point ?
We're paying Mbye to play at saints so probably not any better off financially either.

He’s significantly better, I don’t even think it’s close. Mbye would probably be a better 1, I’d take peachey at centre, 5/8, lock or hooker

Simona was definitely a centre.
A bloody good one too

Only when he had a bet on Us to win

To be fair, his betting was just sheer stupidity, I'm pretty sure Tim just had a gambling addiction and couldn't help himself with, from what I understand, were relatively small bets.

I don't think there was any serious questioning or proof that he actually tanked while playing for us or gave any opposition player a leg up.

What was inexcusable was the fact that he ripped off charities to support his gambling habit which was such a shame as I believe the guy was a really talented footy player and as some have previously mentioned, he was the last quality centre that we have had.

I think betting on your opposite number to score is pretty damning.

Im in another camp. I have never seen the hype around him, until this year. This year in every Titans game I watched he looked good, very dangerous.

Gee you guys are funny ….. who do you think we are likely to sign but a “ fringe first grader,” and hope for some luck.
In our current state …… We are not exactly a Las Vegas of NRL to attract the first class cattle.

I agree with all the posters claiming we need to aim higher. But also agree with the above that we are going to be limited to who we sign with our image. Easy as she goes with a few more experienced heads and some players that will improve us incrementally along with some Laurie Stef youngsters who will grow with the experience. It’s going to take time y’all but despite the whinging and whining from many of us on here I know everyone’s going to be here till the end. Proud to be a Tigers fan!

Perfect 14 for us

If we are looking at spending 1.6 m or thereabouts on perhaps 3 or four players, Peachey makes a lot of sense in that utility role. He can cover a few positions and comes off a good season

If that’s the role he is signed to carry out. Compare Peachey at $400k to Mbyebat $900k. I know which way I’d go.

I get that, but I’d of thought we’d sign him for at least two years so year two you bank the saving. Despite that, Peachey is more likely to change a game compared to Mbye

That is why I wasn't as excited as others about the Mbye release as you still have to replace him with someone as good with the money you have left over or it is a pointless exercise.

I see Peachey as a marginal improvement over Mbye but from a salary cap perspective it makes little difference.

Exactly, Mbye is gone but he’s still on the books. We’re not saving money by signing Peachey

He has a bit more of a go but can be prone to go missing as well.

I guess it all comes down to the benefit of the change of personnel. If Peachy is a better fit for our squad and players than MBye was then it will be a good move. He certainly has more X factor than MBye, and will be huge role model for Laurie I feel.

I actually believe we paid Mbye the $400k out of 2021 cap instead of paying TPJ which we were hoping to use the money for.

Difference being peachey will actually cost us less games and maybe even win a few

Peachey and Dylan Walker are the best 2 off contract players both would improve our playing roster…
