It was sarcastic, the point was there could be a million reasons why she would follow the Wests Tigers on insta and I wouldn't be basing my signing news on who people follow on social media.

It's a handy signing as he plays a few positions and has SOME spark, even if he may have passed his use by date. However, lets not kid ourselves, he's definitely a 'Wests Tigers' signing. It could work out, and it's nowhere near as stupid as signing BJ and Roberts who were obviously plodders.

The signing of Peachey as a ball playing lock who can cover in the backs now allows the tigers to play 2 hookers next season. A utility player like Peachey to cover if the backs get injured during the game will be a big positive.
We can know have on the bench 2 props a backrower and a hooker. This can give the likes of Liddle and LL a much needed rest during games which both need next season.

How many players since hartigan on board have we payed overs for. Wouldn’t do it for tpj and finucane. Tried with latrell but he’s a grade above those. I have definitely have more faith nowadays and don’t feel the need to be pessimistic in this reguard. Question is how will sheens influence money spent

Tyrone Peachey is on the move to Wests Tigers next season.



After three seasons with the Gold Coast Titans, Peachey is poised to return to Sydney after agreeing to terms on a two-year-deal with the Tigers.


The Roar understands the deal is worth around $800,000 with an official announcement imminent.



One of the most versatile players in the game, Peachey has been identified by the Tigers as a ball playing lock.


If we have signed Peachey for $400k a season that will do me. He has showed nothing for a few years now .

Sure sign him on $250-300k but geez $400k is a fair whack. So much for not paying overs

The reality is though if we don’t sign some new players with experience we’re simply giving what we already have a big pay rise. Some one said it a day or so back, we have to sign some players and there’s not many available and even fewer who want to come here.To me this is about as good a signing as we can get. Experienced and versatile and can still make things happen in a game.

The position of only wanting to sign Munsters, Trobojevic’ and the like is not gonna happen. Baby steps is our only way currently with the stench of this place.


This isn’t a baby step if its 400k for a player who can’t cement a position and has been ordinary for a few years. He would have zero sway in the player market.
He just replaces Mbye/Walters. I have no issue with Peachey coming and he would be a step up on who he replaces, its the 400k if true I have an issue with.

I think Peachey might be a tad better than Mbye and an absolute crapload better than Walters. And he’s on less than half what Mbye was on. What the club has to pay for a crap decision regarding Mbye is irrelevant to decisions made going forward.

He is 30yrs old - are you comfortable with the reported 400k price tag per year?

GC fan said it... have we not learned from the past? No one else wanted Peachy... why are we paying 400k? We could of got him for a song. 200k would of been generous for him. The problem with this club ATM is they undervalue themselves. So much whinging about those DH players "who dont what to come here" eg Addo carr, Dale Finucane, Tevita Pangi etc.If they dont have the heart to play for this club, we dont need them or want them at any price. Until we see the value in the kids coming through who have a heart & a genuine love & want to play for this great club, we will continue to pay overs for DH players & we will get the same results. Remember when we were successful? The Robbie Farahs, The Benji Marshals ,The Chris Lawrences & further back...... The Steve Roaches, the Benny Elias's , the Garry Jacks, The Tom Radonicus's.... all great players who loved their club. Bout time we started to breed that again. .

I absolutely agree with you. I don't get all the angst about whether we might have paid $100k too much for Peachey. The forum has been saying for ages now that we can't attract top players, so what's the opportunity cost here? Are we going to miss out on a great recruitment opportunity because we've overpaid $100k for Peachey? (If we did).
I reckon he'll be a reasonable fit for us. Probably paying overs but not enough to cause dissent amongst the troops. and not enough to cause us salary cap problems.
