OFFICIAL TYSON FRIZELL 🔒

For a year, he will make us more robust. Rotating off the bench with Royce (is he still with us?) is a very solid middle leading into halftime, when we often struggle late in the half.

I'm not doubting his professionalism and in fact I am sure after 16 seasons he'd know how to tie his boot laces. But didn't they say the same about Mercenary Luai when he arrived? Thankfully, Tyson isn't that thirsty, self-promoting merc, though, so I reckon we just may have jagged another good one along with Mann & Brailey & thanks Demps "Averillo".

I'm very happy with this signing. Tyson is a no-nonsense footballer who does not know how to take a backward step. The 3 forwards signings of Frizzell, Mann and Brailley offer experience as well as a bit of flexibility with our forwards squad. Both Mann and Twally can play lock, Frizzell can play second row and prop. Brailley allows Appi to have a spell each game. And Terrell won't have to play the full 80 minutes. We won't have to rely on less experienced players such as Tristan Hope and Charlie Murray. These signings could go a big way to reducing our fatigue problems that seem to catch up with us just before half time and late in the game. Welcome to Wests Tigers, Tyson.

Thought he was pretty good for Newcastle in 2026. Doesn't offer a lot of yardage, but he does all the good things in defence and the little things you don't notice like kick chase and escorts.

I’ve often looked on at Tyson Frizell through his career and had envy. I wished we had someone like him in our team. Plays solid the whole time he is on field. Uncompromising and a real pro. Great signing. Am impressed and excited with our signings for 2027. It’s gonna be different.
That Origin game where he ran the length of the field chasing down one of the QLD backs (and keeping up with him) sums the guy up for mine. Just 100% effort. Whilst he’s clearly not that player anymore, those habits are clearly still there.
I hope those habits rub off on the young blokes

Mann, Brailey and Frizz are more off- field signings than on- field.

AD had a problem with our training standards, apparently so did a lot of other ex- players. These guys have one job- show the Fainus, the Mays, Makasini, Bula etc what it means to be a professional athlete.

The S&C staff at Newcastle have been amazing apparently. Hopefully Frizz has learnt a few things there that helps our staff too.
He may be able to coach our coaches how to win games by grit and determination?

Not sure if you're being sarcastic but I hope the new players can raise the standards at training.

Not just with hard work but basic stuff like putting weights back, towels in bins, look after your diet, take your supplements etc.

These guys combined have played 600+ games in 10 different clubs with probably over a dozen coaches.
