Tyson Gamble

Billy McConachie was a standout for us. As was Rockin Rod Griffin.

Seriously though, Gamble will go alright when he is given a taste of first grade at some stage this season.

Blake Lazarus for some reason popped into my mind.
Are Reggie's on TV this weekend?

We now have Tom Humble, John Grant and Blake Lazarus as guys you think Gamble is as good as.

So damn good. Keep adding to it guys. . .

It gets tiring after a while when someone continuously shoves a player down everyone else’s throats relentlessly. Particularly one whose never played first grade. It doesn’t endear many people, it just gets annoying. The same way lots of people got annoyed with Russell’s Lolohea posts.

If you can't work out that I'm responding to other people's negative opinions then there isn't much I can do about that.

I went off early fair point but the last week or so has just been about people who watch one game and think they see some massive flaw in his game.

As I said Cleary must have been very dissapointed to make him 18th man.

I would like to se Tyson given a chance
From the little I've seen in him I think the number 17 on his back is warranted
The problem is though who's spot does he take at this point
I think the only option is if we want a genuine utility that can play in a number of positions
Could be a very handy player if we make the finals but needs an opportunity to prove himself first

He'll need to bide his time and continue to play well in ISP. We need an 80 minute hooker if we're going to include a utility on the bench, but whether Gamble fits that bill is another question.

This is what gets me

Here we are possibly riding on our best season in 6 years and we are arguing about a fringe player

I like everyone else on here hopes he kills it helps us to the finals and becomes the rookie of the year

But arguing about it before it has even occurred and taking away from our fantastic start just blows my mind guys

Really ??

Seriously ??

I look forward to seeing him killing it in 1st grade for us, nice to have pinched a star from under the nose of the Qld Teams… I think?

Haven't mentioned him for weeks, and never will again.

I hope he does great if he gets a shot this year, but would prefer that our team is doing so well he doesn't get a look in.

To me he is like a Jacob Miller / Nu Akeripa hybrid.

He’s defiantly a hybrid. His goal kicking approach is like Joel Caine and the follow through more like Wayne Miranda.

No Ross Conlon in there at all?

Im hanging to see this guy play, see what all the fuss is about

Well that's a blast from the past, though I can't say that I remember his post kick action.

On Tyson, we all have our favourites and biases, and we are talking about a guy that was identified and handed a multiple year top squad contract, so he hasn't been brought down to play ISP for a few years. That said, to get in the halves, he is competing for a spot against a competent first grader that was rated much more highly when on the rise, a former SOO winner, as well as a club legend that has found some new mojo.

If he can show enough to force his way into the team, good luck to him and will likely get a shot at some point through injury anyhow. In the meantime, until the coach decides otherwise, he must bide his time and show his value, most likely as a utility.

I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion and that's what makes this forum great and why I love coming on here and reading everything.

What I don't understand is why people are getting upset about a young bloke being talked up in a thread that is named after him. If you don't want to hear him being talked up in his own thread then don't read it.

From what I can see in the game day section under our team selection there hasn't been a heap of talk about him and it seems to be kept mainly in here so I don't really see the problem with that.

Sometimes common sense just smacks you in the face

Well said!

I for another, like what I saw of him last year.

Is he ready for NRL? Ideally I would have him work on fitness in ISP for now, as I think some of his deficiencies may stem from that. He is not up to playing 80 mins at his best from what I've seen this year.

As for likenesses, I respectfully suggest he reminds me of how Peter Jackson (R.I.P.) used to play.
