U20's Elimination Final Live game thread

Get that up ya! Despite all the missed tackles, lousy decision making, dropped ball and one of the all-time stitch up jobs from the refs we win.

Mulcahy did nothing most of the season, and did little last year, but stood up in the GF in 2012 and stood up well today. Like a Zidane of NYC.

Funaki is the slowest outside back of all time but he made it! Nice work.

Well for some reason the Broncos fullback didn't seem to think it was urgent enough to sprint over there. He was just ambling over and got their too late.

Funaki's lack of speed tricked the fullback into thinking the other defender would get there and he was able to cover the inside. Funaki being slow won us the game.

I thought funaki was going at half pace as he was going to try and wait for support then draw the fullback. It looked weird though didn't it, the fullback just kinda stood there…it was like they faced off waiting for the other one to do something...and they both did nothing

Funaki was quite obviously snail speed all game. He got put on the outside multiple times and barely made any ground any time. The Broncos just thought the was too slow to worry them. They took him on all day and beat him over and over and he had the last laugh.

The win was good but what a woeful effort.

Rowe was pathetic for 90% of the game, Brooks looked lost and Mulcahy offers nothing of any real substance.

By rights we should get thumped next week

Santi is a loss for next year, i thought he was our best - things not looking too good for brown, maybe a broken arm?? We play like that again next week, we'll lose by 20 lol, got saved by the captains challenge.

I thought Mulcahy was our go to guy….Brooks was just awful.

Thank Allah for captains challenge......how bad were the refs???

Next week payten needs to buy 17 valves of extra strong super glue and apply it himself to all our players.

Malcahy, it looks like he re-invents himself for finals
We butchered too many tries, enough for 3 games no just one :frowning:
Go Tigers.

The best hope we have is that I was commenting before the match how gaunt and unwell a lot of the squad looked.

Maybe a virus through camp?

In a way its good we won such a close game. If we had of converted those simple opportunities and won 54-12 or something like that the team could be over confident heading into next week.

The team has serious problems with motivation, concentration and leadership. Winning big can be good but can also make teams complacent. A hard fought win and a reminder they have to play for 80 mins is what we needed.

We all know they can score lots of points. But last weekend they won an arm-wrestle for the first time in a while.

If they focus next week we could still win by 40 points. Canberra were extremely patchy and we do have a good record against them in recent times.
