Unca Wayne, a penny for his thoughts

Good ol' Bennett has been very conspicuous with his silence on the whole Hodges issue. When McKinnon was permanently injured by a tackle like Hodges' one Bennett was the number one outspoken advocate of eradicating this sort of tackle and severely punishing players who continue to perform these dangerous lifting tackles. It seems like Wayne's morals and tough stance have taken a back seat to his desire to win another premiership to list on his resume, HE HAS SAID NOTHING. Makes him look like a top-notch goose IMO. Pretty poor form from a man who loves to take the moral high ground on many issues in rugby league, shame he doesn't have the figs to stick to his guns unless it suits his cause.

Its not Bennetts call FTB

Its Hodges call when it comes to the crunch

Bennett can't stop Hodges challenging the decision

That's right Happy but Bennett was only too keen to come out in the aftermath of the McKinnon tragedy and absolutely vent his displeasure and disgust at these very sort of tackles. Wonder what he would have said had Hodges been dropped on his head by an opposition player who subsequently got off without suspension? You can be certain he would of come out and complained to the media with comments along the lines of "how many more players will have to have their necks broken and lives shattered before the powers that be in the NRL pull their finger out and punish players who commit this sort of tackle?". Not much respect for Wayne in regards to his dismissal of this incident TBH, he has come out of this as a hypocrite of monumental proportions

As I said mate, he says what he wants when it suits his cause and end game. " I didn't say what I felt because it would harm my teams chances of winning a premiership and further adding to my mystique as ' supercoach' and fighter for all causes true to my heart" is what you WON'T hear him say. Would he want to bring it up during GF week? No, and I understand that. Does it make him look like a hypocrite and goose for putting his own agenda first? Absobloodylutely 100% it does. You either stand for a cause and feel passionately about it regardless of personal gain or you don't. Bennett will come out after the GF if the Broncos win and put on his smirk and say Hodges probably shouldn't have got off blah blah.

Seriously, name a coach who discusses an incident in the lead up to his player fronting the judiciary after being cited?

Think before posting!

He didnt lift… He has now been vindicated from lifting. It didnt happen!

This is obviously nothing like the McKinnon Tackle, as that player did lift and rightly was found guilty.

Whats Wayne Thinking? Wayne would probably prefer you dont use Alex McKinnon's fate for your personal agenda!

In GF week no less. Really don't know the point of this thread other than just an excuse to have another dig at anything Storm/Qld related.

Probably…crap...I hope Thurston/Cooper Linnett and Feldt don't carve him up...

Yeah well said! Coz of course Hodges now plays for the Storm doesnt he?…. As far as anti-QLD bias goes they are playing another QLD team so figure that one out. Good one

Notice how I said Storm/QLD. Last time I checked Hodges was a Queenslander

The Cowboys are the lesser of two evils.
