Yeah agree with Ink and all re: openly advertising youth. Whilst we say rock spiders shouldn't be on here trolling, doesn't mean it won't.

Also, a lot of the Gen Y kids use iPhones and I don't think the Roar Feed app has the ability to distinguish anywhere near the user features as it's online equivalent (I.e. posts, status, etc). So don't think it would serve a purpose in this instance.

**Speaking of big Damo, I haven't seen any posts from him in ages… Is he ok?**

He's probably fine, he usually only comes out when we're losing just to lay the slipper into the boys.

Losing? We've won 3 in a row and he's still been on having a dig!

Oh, I either mustn't have seen him or I've got to the point where I don't care for what he has to say anymore

I'm 15, I've been posting here for about 3 years, I'm fine with the way the forum is currently operating. Most members would have a fair idea of my age simply by looking at the second part of my username 'cub' which gives a fair hint away.

I've said a few outlandish things on this forum over the years and copped criticism, most of which has been constructive, very much within the spirit of forum debate. Problems arise when things start getting personal, when your subjected to 'trolling' by other members, and I know the admin have taken great precautions to ensure these 'trolls' are reprimanded in some way or another.

Other than that though, I'm happy with the existing state of affairs.

It's to divisive as well, yes I'm a junior by definition, but my standard and quality of posts is right up there with a few of the seniors.

Amen. That's why the Junior tag should be optional IMO.

I think this is one of the great things about growing up, is being able to hold your own in a footy talk at the pub or a BBQ and even online. Im 21 now and i consider myself to be an adult, but there are still occasions where my opinion is looked down on because of my age. I don't believe age defines too much when it comes to sport, as I've spoken to men in their 50s who make comments like "Haynes sh*t, he's a poof" for example. if you think the blokes a rubbish footballer then say why not just some crap about hating the bloke or homophobic misconceptions about his sexuality. We're talking football, not wine or cheese. Age shouldn't be an issue.

Just asking, what exactly is underage on here? It's an open forum for tigers fans of all ages, gender, religions & nationalities. It's not like we have nudity, out of hand swearing (might be the odd s… Now & then) there's no racism, bullying or anything that would offend someone or something that an underage person shouldn't see.

Your 100% right, I grew up in 50's & 60's in Balmain, it was a different world, all the Tigers players lived and worked in the district. Many were involved in the local footy clubs, so were also available to the younger generation who were under age for pubs, clubs, and social occasions where adults discussed footbal with their mates.
All that has changed, the players are not as accessible, and when they are it's generally club open days for kids, or in the clubs, which 12 to 17 year olds can't got to. Forums like this are a great way for junior members to learn what older memebrs think and feel about football, and a chance for older members to learn how the next generation think about their football. I talk footy with my grandkids, and when they are up here on the coast on holidays and weekends with us, we watch all the games, and explain some of the finer points to them. When I did my coaching certificate 40 years ago, I didn't realise it would now come in handy for the grandy's.

Good on the junior members here for being committed fans and members.

Look, I just don't want 12 or 13 year olds getting butchered for being displaying their exuberance or having differing opinions on team selections. One particular member has been getting belted from pillar to post and he's just a kid who wants to have his say, and he's not even being rude or obnoxious to even justify the sort of negative responses he's been receiving.

I hear what your saying, but unless there is a dead giveaway in the username of the posters age, how are we suppose to differentiate between a kid and just somebody who has no idea?

Well if someone has no idea but isn't being rude/condescending/obnoxious, would you abuse them anyway? You'd disagree of course, but wouldn't you be a little more diplomatic if your opinions simply differed and there was no animosity?

That's what this thread is all about. If you had read the OP, then you would have seen CK proposing a tag to set younger members apart from the older ones, so that it doesn't happen again

Hahaha beat me to it

Er yes CB, you might just have expressed that a little differently given another chance

Sorry Cultured Bogs, that should have read ' CC ' (citizen cub) 😱pen_mouth:

Define "senior" Citizen Tiger?

I know 18 year olds that have a maturity and a clarity of vision that 50 year olds would like. Then again I know 50 year olds that can't argue without losing their temper or at least their composure

One thing is very clear and that's the fact that today's teenagers are substantially better informed and unafraid to voice their opinions in all kinds of environments, including forums

Frankly I'd rather absorb their thoughts than have to traverse my way around the mountains of self indulgent, conceited rubbish published by the few that think this forum is their personal fiefdom.

Ask that to the people who use to give it to Bug for giving an opinion

There were times where I could agree or disagree politely with him simply because he was diplomatic. Other times he was blatantly trolling and he got called out for it.
