IMO our biggest problem over the past few years is exactly that.
This year after a promising start we imploded from Management down and this is the result. If I compared our club to the 911 terrorists who crashed into the twin towers…......we are crashing our own planes into our own club.
The management has been split between the two boards and they have used the coach as a pawn which has just filtered down through the playing roster and so on.
If you look at VERY SUCCESSFUL clubs like Melbourne or Manly or Roosters or Brisbane etc....these clubs have a WINNING culture, they are WINNERS, they run the club like WINNERS.
We on the other hand are LOSERS, we have a LOSER's mentality and when things are improving for us......we crash the planes back into our club. We have people at the club who are scared or donot know how to succeed.
It does not matter if Potter can coach or not, when you white ant the coach you cause disharmony in the team and this filters through.
I am 50 years of age. I have run my own business's for the majority of my working life. I have managed my staff, clientele, financials...basically all of it and never had the money or financial backing these boards have had to rely on....and I succeeded. People Management is such an important aspect of any business and rugby league is a business. In recent years we stuffed our players around with contracts, our coach's and the buck has to start and stop at the very highest levels of management.
What is happening at this club is very unprofessional and I have to seriously question the ability of the Management and current board if after all these years our club is still in this shambles state.
Logic very early in the season should have demanded that Potter be given a 1 year extension and the work of building a competitive team given 100% of our attention.
Instead we sit here week in week out having to defend when the coach is getting sacked or which players are undermining the coach.......you can't win footy games like that.
