I've been trying to think a few possible ideas, maybe a combination of the monograms used last year (W, S, B) or something? dunno

yeah they are all ripoffs. It happens all the time in sport as it is extremely difficult to trademark or copyright a sporting teams logo. But ours is the original and honestly we should no change it as we have only had it for 10 years and it is a fairly popular logo and is also recognisable compared to some other logos out there.

In light of this discovery of a similar logo in Yankmerica, we better change it. I just noticed that we play in the same colours as Hull FC in the EPL, Richmond in the AFL, Easts Tigers in the Q Cup, and many other teams so whilst we're at it we better change our colours too, there could be a clash of interest there.

What I am proposing is a plain white shirt with the words WESTS TIGERS where the logo used to be. But we'll have to check every sporting team on the planet to make sure we aren't stealing their font. I'll start looking now.

They changed the logo because the word TIGERS was bigger than WESTS and there was backlash from the wests side.

While I prefer the old Balmain Tigers logo, I don't want this to be used as the Wests Tigers logo. It would be too destabalising for the joint venture.

For the record, I also prefer the old Wests Magpies logo. Both old logos feel like they have more class than our current logo, which I feel is trying too hard to be cool. If we could come up with a new logo which had the feel of the old ones, I would be happy for it to be considered…

I think that was a fair request from the Wests side of the partnership.

It is a 50 50 joint venture after all.
