@happy_tiger I'd like to know how he got that cork. I'd need to watch the game again (you'd have to be a sucker for punishment) but I think I saw Nelson being a grub after a tackle was completed.

@GNR4LIFE yeh Jennings is a solid backup and in defence but doesn't really offer anything in attack.

Compare to TNT and Tuquri we need some strike finishers.

There’s really nothing that stands out about his game other than being a good finisher, And those players are a dime a dozen.

He’s just a log that falls over the line ..
Stick him in the forwards and make him earn his keep .

@hobbo1 Yes nothing to get very excited about.
Was expecting much, much more. Strikes me as a lazy player.
As far as move to forwards ...sigh .. he would need to learn how to tackle first.

Top performance, we showed some real character defending our line and they only really looked dangerous off a quick play the ball with their fullback supporting with his lightning speed.

Thought our forwards held their own for the first 25mins or so and then the intensity really lifted with Aiolai. Benji directed our attack well, and our short kicking game was good.

As others have said, we lose in this way far too often. Testament to this is the fact that I cashed out a cheeky $50 Head to Head bet with 12 mins to go and us up by 8.

We had our chances to close this out, Masters being held up over the line, Mbye not passing, Fonau's missed tackle. At the end of the day we get 0 competition points for this performance.

I am hopeful we can back up with another strong showing against Souths next week. If we do that I will be convinced that we have genuinely improved as a team.

U know... i dont know bout anyone else, but i took this better than i expected.... yeah i was angry after the game... but aftwr thinking over the game today, imo it was actually a really good game, i think we surpassed everyones expectations.....

Our backline for a long time now has looked like a 1980 rodeo dual cab compared to most other teams that have resembled a v8 super car, but last night they looked well organised and ran with plenty of purpose. Still missing a speed merchant or two but good signs.

I actually think Souths are a better team than Melbourne so next week will be another massive job to get done

Yeah i dont subscribe to that they were poor theory thing. I liked what i saw and i think we have turned the corner on a few things.

New coach, new system, form goes up and down for a while then one day if its the right coach form stays up. This game is the start of the up. Still a ways to go but we are getting there.

So fickle , it’s like watching the Kardashians picking their favourite purse . Weird!
I have been very critical of the last few years but I actually think “sign more players “ is not the brightest move considering we have the starting centre from schoolboys last year , and the starting 6 from last year playing u21s. And I think Talau was on the tour as well . Fonua and Moms , even benji are just warming the seats
