Utai

Look I have being thinking about Utai His metres are great But one issue I have with his metres are the are usually hard earned and give the defensive line of the opposition time to set themselves . I would much prefer he runs at a hole and get a fast play the ball and then hopefully create space for Robbie out of dummy half or for the backs . Does anyone else have an opinion ???

His toughest night tonite. No surprises up against the best defense…but he still cracked 100m.

If you think the defense is set, yet ref hasnt called held and hes still struggling with numbers on him, an offload will surely find a gap ...there usually 3 or 4 on him and those players are not set.....you'll probably only get a quick play the ball if hes cut down quickly and the ref calls it quick, and thats most loikely to only involve one possible two defenders

Kick returns and hit ups when were jammed in a corner or when the forwards are buggered - which is his strong point - doesnt really augur well for quick ptb's

Near the end of the game, one kick return, he caught the ball on the full I think and then he CHARGED towards the line at Lockyer and Wallace. Never seen anyone charge like that in Tiger colours since Tuiaki.

Yeah agree in part Ink but the chances of getting a quality ball away when you have 3 or 4 guys hanging off you and the ball aren't going to be high . My point is we need to get faster play the balls as this is our strength and we just don't seem to be playing to our strengths at the moment . That's why I have an issue with Moltzen he does not support wingers so we can hit a pass and get us in centre of field . Playing from the centre even 10 metres from the line is easier than playing from corners as you can obviously go either left or right and makes defense slow there line speed When playing from corners they can come up and cream us in gang tackles and with high line speed and we go nowhere with our running game and then need to rely on the worst kicking game in the NRL to get us out of trouble

I think the other teams have worked him out his impact is dropping week by week and his lack of speed is a real handicap. No other team in the NRL carry their two slowest backs on the wing. On the positive side his drive and passion never dips like most other players in our team

with sheens at the helm and when tuqiri comes back utai might get the chop unfortunately - beau wont get chopped. enjoy him while you can - biggest ticker in the team

Pretty sure over 7 rounds (feel free to correct me) but he's the only backline player to crack over 100 metres in attack in every game. Definitely had a tougher time of it last night (I was impressed with the Broncos defensive line and discipline).

His go forward has been great, but I just wish he wld occasionally attempt to evade tacklers with a step or a swerve rather than steamroll them
Got a feeling that not only will his attack be worked out by competitors, but they'll also exploit his fragility under the high ball & lack of speed.
The sad thing is apart from Lote & Brown,he's the only winger that remotely resembles a 1st grader atm

Wonder if we might see him moved to centre this week if Ayshford is out

1\. Mckinnon

3\. Utai ( if Ayshford is out)
4\. Moltzen
5\. Brown

If that's all we've got left to choose from then Marshall and Lui are going to need to start taking the line on themselves…alot. My god, there would be state cup backlines stronger than that.
