Utai

Select Lote. He never drops the ball

He only dropped it when he was plagued by injury last year. I don't recall him dropping it in 2010\. Or does your memory not stretch back that far?

Utai is a strong and enthusiastic player, who is hard to tackle and makes good metres - he would make an ideal impact player off the bench. However, he has hands like feet, is extremely vulnerable under the high ball and has a distinct lack of speed - he should **never** be selected to play on the wing.

I would never wish a player any ill fortune, but perhaps his injury is a blessing in disguise for the team, as it will now force Sheens to select a real winger to take Utai's place for the next month or so - because, as we all know, it would never have happened otherwise.

Could not agree more, watching Utai reminded me of watching Fitzy at his worst,if he is not injured then he has to go any way.

I loved it when he turned to retrieve the wayward Farah pass and fell off and flailed madly at the ball but his midget arms couldn't reach it. Sums him up really for me. Sure he is insanely strong but damn he has some drawbacks.

in all respect macdougal, that pass from our leader was a shocker.

I don't think anyone can deny Matt Utai is tough and enthusiastic but unfortunately I agree with most that the has three major problems as a winger and they are poor reads in defence, lack of pace and lack of crossing the try-line.

If I was a selector he would only ever (if selected at all) be a bench/impact player used in the last 10 minutes of each half. Definitely time to start looking for a genuine 1st Grade Winger and I believe Utai's latest injury could actually be a catalyst to introduce some new talent?

Typical of this forum a lot of the time….what you missed but found amusing was he was in the act of trying to rectify a schoolboy error one of our key playmakers, a shocking pass from Farah

But yes, he has a lot of errors in him himself.

I clearly didn't miss it. I actually mentioned it. It was a brutally shocking pass from Farah but Utai had no right not to pick that ball up. All that play needed was the Benny Hill theme.

M <y point="" is="" youre="" laughing="" at="" a="" player="" trying="" to="" clean="" up="" another="" players="" mess="" and="" ignoring="" the="" initial="" stuff="" up…which="" isnt="" easy="" with="" an="" oval="" shaped="" ball<br="">> Lol I don't disagree but literally anybody would have picked that ball up except Utai.

Yeh, anyone could clean up that mess....anyone could throw a decent dummy half pass too</y>
