Western Suburbs Magpies is saddened to learn of the passing of 1977-82 Magpie Bob Cooper
Bob played 81 FG games for the Mighty Magpies and was a towering figure of that era
He also played for NSW in the inaugural State of Origin match in 1980
Bob was named in the Second row for Magpies team of the Eighties
Our thoughts are with Bob’s Family & Friends at this time.

Oh damn, what else can happen this year. A great magpie from a great team in an era of toughness and no nonsense.

Such a shock...grow up watching these guys play still think of them as young...I guess he was in his laye 60s or 70s...RIP big fella....have a few with Dallas Tommy & co.

Condolences to Bob’s family and friends. Very sorry for your loss. Sure Bob was tough but he was a very cleaver forward, one of the best I’ve seen. Always had a smile and a kind word after the game.
