A true great for Western Suburbs, N.S.W. and Australia.

Absolute champion cricketer. Great batsman, handy change bowler and one of the all time great slip catchers. Not to mention probably the best coach Australia has ever had.

Never saw him play but him and Border turned aus cricket around in the 80s

He was asked to lead the establishment test side during the world series challenge and won everyone's respect as a result.

He was such a great man. Literally called up out of retirement from Grade Cricket at Western Suburbs after a 10 year break!. I saw him in 1977 at the SCG in the Aussie side vs The Poms he'd just been removed as Captain by the ACB for that Victorian goose Yallop.. That series saw the emergence of quite possibly our greatest modern day Batsman and Captain - Alan Border.

I’m not old enough to have seen him play, but Bob and AB took our cricket team from arguably one of the worst with a captain that cried on tv to being the best that everyone copied if they could. I think his become the best fielding team in the world first strategy is one that a lot of teams copy when going through transitional phases. A great coach.
