Well done, Ozzy. It is shocking that he made it to 76. As with Keef, his lifestyle should have put him six feet under 40 years ago. There are members of the 27 club who lived more soberly than Ozzy.

Black Sabbath were the original and the best heavy metal band. I loved their B movie horror vibe as a teen. Good musicians too.

I remember sitting around with my mates when I was 14/15 years old blasting out Black Sabbath non stop.
PS If anybody still has the Masters of Reality original album with raised lettering on the cover it’s worth serious money.

RIP Ozzy - i saw Black Sabbath in 1974 at the Hordern Pavilion with AC/DC as a support - one of the loudest concerts i have ever been to.

Its weird how after someone who isn’t well will pass soon after a big event or milestone in their life. He’d been wanting that last show for years, finally it was planned a year out, then passes away two weeks after. It’s almost like he was saving himself for that show, willing himself for one final performance. Then once it was done, his life was complete. Happens a lot. Very strange.

Pioneer of heavy rock. Despite appearances, his lyrics were uplifting and positive. Ozzy lived a heavy life but had his head screwed on. Loved the theatre of it all, although biting the head off a bat on stage was a step too far for mine.

Heard some tunes on skate footage over the years and definitely had some timeless hits.

I never thought that I knew much Sabbath/Ozzy songs until a mate showed me them in HIgh School. Turns out I had been listening to them and Led Zep my whole life through my Dads music. One of the best frontmen ever and the start of the best (my opinion) genre of music

Woke up to read the sad news of Ozzy passing away he was an absolute legend of heavy metal.
His music will live on for decades, everyone had their favourites of his endless list of unforgettable songs but for me War Pigs, Paranoid and Sympton Of The Universe will be blasting out of my stereo this afternoon in tribute

RIP Ozzy.
