I've always thought it would be better to commemorate a win rather than a loss. Why not celebrate the Magpies last premiership win in 1952 against Souths rather than losing every year to St.George in the early 60's ? I'd rather go alternate years with Balmain and have the traditional game against Souths every year at the SCG …..... thats if you really need to have one at all.

Not a big issue for mine and happy to back Stephen on this one.

Yee ha, i hate the SCG….

I Couldn't give a toss that they played games there in the past, it was only so beacause there weren't better grounds.

It's bloody awful to watch footy there, can't believe people want to watch footy there. IT'S A CRICKET GROUND.

Couldn't agree more!

So you were in the room when these conversations happened between the CEO & the SCG Trust, The NRL and the 9 Network?

Given how important this issue is to you why didn't you do more to push the case? Not a veiled dig at you but I am curious as to how it went down.

In regard to the fine if we were not seeing Todd Payten retire at the end of the season and Wade McKinnon was not moving on I may be more likely to agree with you. However it seems other were let go because they are searching to secure better talent

To move the CEO,The scg trust,the nrl and the 9 Network sometimes means more than one person smeg if you got hopes of being the next us president,Sorry I cant help with that. :smiley: :smiley: :smiley:

So to clarify you are stating you were in the room during all of the aforementioned conversations?

Pm me for details.

No need for details.

Just confirm of deny you were there for all of the conversations held in regard to this matter.

You have made the claims of knowledge publicly. Surely it isnt too much to ask to confirm what you have alluded to in terms of direct knowledge.

Sorry Ink, i'm not trying to have a go at you or your opinion, it's just the way your reply came across carried undertones that were baffling.

In this post: http://www.weststigersforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=8372&start=18&time=1308743940#p193103 I posted what was emailed to us by the club minutes earlier to set the record straight re. the Dragons game, saying that the decision was ultimately the clubs but Ch9 forced their hand (as reported in the SMH article).

Then the very next post your response challenged what I posted. The phrase "he didnt say that" suggests that what I posted was false and that the REAL reasons were being hidden, covered up or what ever.

I'm sorry if my interpretation of your response was that it was provocative, but that's how I viewed it. You said that it wasn't, so ok. A misunderstanding then.

As for the conspiracy theory stuff, well, magpie mania's following posts certainly make out as though Concord and Humphreys are working to undermine Wests:

@magpie mania said:
**Led us on a dance** all year and said dont worry wests we take all your players but we will compensate you with a wests heritage day at the scg.**But when the reality of the day arrives** yep wests miss out again.

_This reads as "Concord is doing everything it can to remove Wests from the JV"_

@magpie mania said:
Yep another one of Huphreys answers to HIS COMMENTS at agm where WESTS SIDE OF JV NEED MORE EXPOSURE take away from scg aswell as take all wests players and give them to not balmain but ryde eastwood a 0% shareholder of the jv.well done ****head.What has the guy done for us except totally blow our salary cap and lose a lot of wests players in the process.Gibbs.Fifita and nearly Fulton.

_Humphreys yet again favouring Balmain over Wests_

@magpie mania said:
Very first year we commemorate Wests and bingo last minute change no scg game.

_It's all a ploy by Wests Tigers!!!_

@magpie mania said:
one problem with everything you just said,Humphreys simply rings the mug at nine married to leila mckinnon and request sunday game(As they have every time for balmain)this is a sunday game for sure.

_Implying that Humphreys is willing to do everything he can to be pro-Balmain, but won't move a finger for Wests_

That's 4 posts from the first page of this thread that all imply that Concord is actively working to undermine Western Suburbs, ie. conspiracy theory. It is just four among countless other posts by him and others in many other threads here and on the Western Suburbs forum that all carry the same tone.
The comment about lies, spin and delusions was not meant for Ink, it's was meant for Magpie Mania who, as demonstrated in the posts above, appears to have conjured some crazy idea that there is an anti-Wests agenda at Concord.

If this is not true then magpie mania should be able to clarify his posts right here in this thread.

Apology accepted Kul.
I know I sometime come across as brash or aggro, but I will always apologize and admit it when wrong and respect others for doing likewise.
Its a very rare thing on the net, and I like to think people that do know each other personally here and not just from behind a monitor would treat others the same way online & in person .
Kudos.

Cmon smeg be fair, theres only so much I can say on a public forum about what goes on behind closed doors.

Not asking you to say anything that happened in the meeting. Just confirm or deny you were in every meeting

But I want my identity to remain unknown and certain things in a public forum I cannot say.If its knowledge you want Im your man if its an argument you want I am not your man.

You have suggested a slant against a foundation partner in the Joint Venture and made this claim based on facts you claim to know through first hand information yet will not confirm that you were involved in every meeting which would be required to obtain first hand information.

I have extrapolated all the facts I need from that so we are good.

Cheers

Let me be clear the REAL issue has nothing to do with balmain but more to do with other people with jv counter-productive agendas who would prefer to see certain "STRENGTHS" of the jv ignored just because it doesnt meet their own agendas.

No.But I certainly do walk past you when you,re holding up that Cmon Wests banner.The first time I noticed you was that saints semi last year when you were sitting at the south eastern end of the ground in a number of rows back in the terrace.And I had a smile on my face. :smiley: :smiley: :smiley:

i think that was around the 20 metre line. that was one of the first games the C'MON WESTS banner made an appearance. when you see the wests tigers version of 'this is our house' on the big video screens you see my banner in that video and its from that semi-final game against saints last year. i took my C'MON WESTS banner down to canberra on the supporters bus the week before that game. you should make a WESTS MANIA banner! :laughing:

I understand the significance of the iconic Summons/Provan image and the early 60s rivalry between Wests and St George– but hello! Wests LOST three grand finals in a row to St George in the early 60s. I am not inclined to celebrate three losses in a row.

Wests beat Souths in the 1952 grand final -- that's something to celebrate.

Why don't we make the Wests Tigers v Souths game THE heritage game for us each year and alternate the heritage strips each year between Wests and the Tigers?

The wests team of the early 1960's was one of the best teams in the world at the time. It was just their bad luck they ran into probably the greatest teams of all time…....4 times over the space of 11 years including three in succession.

The grand final of 61 was the start of a rivalry that culminated in the 63 grand final moment between summons and provan. Probably typical that western suburbs greatest contribution to the spirit of the game came after a close loss, but what I am saying is that the result is not what we are remembering, but the essence of what we all love about rugby league as symbolised by proven and summons. The same applies to the 89 grand final. We don't remember the game because balmain lost or because it was Canberra's first title, we remember it because it is known as the greatest grand final.
