Lol yea, half of it doesn't appear on screen! It's meant to go Parramatta/score, tackle count/time, Warriors/score but the Parramatta/score is cut off so you can't see…
 
Hate the score graphic and really hate the spidercam.

Hate the SBW show and hate the betting.

But dont get the hate for Karl….the guy is a ratbag and i like him.

Karl is great when doing serious things eg floods, fires.. But is an immature private school boy teen the rest of the time.. Most people grow out of that stage.. Sorry to say I can't stand the sight of him. Can't say I believe he would have a job at 9 if the great Kerry packer was alive…

You have to change the view on your TV to 'letterbox' to see it all.
Pretty stupid on their part not designing it to suit all viewing modes.

Don't mind Karl, he's a far better personality than that grade-A wanker David Koch. Koch is about as funny as a papercut.
 
I reckon most of you are hard to please. Okay, so you don't like it which is fair enough but at least they are trying things.

I get all of what they were trying to do, I see the merit in it and although it still needs some work I am really glad they are trying to avoid things from becoming stale. The spidercam will become a fixture, I agree that it was a little hard to see but I appreciated the angle and once they improve their control, it wii be better.

Re the Sonny Bill build up, I highly doubt it was for us hard core fans! We'll be watching anyway, but for the fringe viewer there were several I personally know of that were keen to see him start through those ads - and at the end of the day the telecast was a record breaker! (And yes, I noticed a big crowd reaction to him coming on the field even though it happened in a low key way when they were behind their posts.)

The old adage of "you can't please all the people all of the time" comes to mind here. Keep in mind that of the hundreds of thousands of viewers there are plenty more to please than just us 'experts'…
 
Spider cam was annoying but I can see it being of use, partly when the camera operators get used to it and can follow the play more smoothly.

I hope they don't over use it but it will be useful to see the player movements in set plays etc…

the less said about Tom Waterhouse the better
 
Channel 9 is crud

The fact they have persisted with Vautin for 20 years verifies their stupidity. The Footy show is so bad that it is impacting my opinion of Benji Marshal,

The Obsession with Roosters and allowing broncos to have so many Friday night games

Tom W The Melbourne based bookie looked way too happy to be on TV, (a Massive Bronco's Fan allegedly) who is he kidding??

The Final nail in the coffin is the Ray Hadley commentry of games - His style dosn't not work for TV
 
Based on my observations thus far this weekend on the telecasts from HK are :

Don't like the Fox score card nor the way they do their team sheets. CH9 score cards look much better. CH9 commentary seems amateurish apart from Rab's.

Hadley should stick to radio he just does not have the personality to be on TV and when he calls the game it does sound like he is ina studio somewhere and without his mates from the Call team he is not funny what so ever.

I guess Iwas expecting so much more this year but it would seem that apart from a few little gimmicks nothing else has changed.

We don't get the Footy show not Fox shows here so can't comment on those.
 
Rabs has gone too long. He either can't see the players properly any more or he's actually losing his mind.

then again I would rather a full-senile Rabs over any kind of Hadley

Apart from the grumpy old man routine with Gus i love Rabs. In saying that though maybe he has gone on too long. There are always instances in games where a play gets called back and he doesn't pick up on it and continues to call for the next 5 seconds

I think the most underutilized caller in the game is Tim Gilbert. He called a game a couple seasons ago and nailed it

I find Tim Gilbert to be a bit of a w_nker but I can't remember hearing him calling a game. I'm a big fan of Dan Ginnane's call on MMM.
