Worked today so just watched the game on Kayo (as an aside, the commentary was so annoying).
We were just awful and very disappointing to watch for the most part. All the effort areas that I’d seen in earlier rounds were gone and we took a big step backwards.
They really looked dejected and broken today.
Looking through the team- some of the performances worth mentioning.....
Toa is not an NRL fullback and showed nothing to make me see him as deserving of a starting spot anywhere.
Mamualo was terrible today. Showed no effort at anything he did all game. Seriously needs to be looked at.
Noffa wasn’t much better and is not putting in at all.
Gildart can not defend at all and was once again responsible for a number of tries. At least Garner made tackles at centre.
Madden was very poor and I don’t think he executed one thing properly. His kicking was off, his D was crap, his passing was misdirected. He has played the dominant half role the last 2 weeks and sorry to say but we have looked worse.
Brooks has either lost all his confidence or has accepted a backseat role. He no longer looks like he wants to play. Once AD is back I suspect he will leave the club.
Our forwards, especially our middles are just too soft to get us any momentum. They have little fight and look like they are just hanging on most of the time.
Basic stuff is killing us. We refuse to chase kicks, we can’t catch or pass, there is no movement off the ball, no players in motion, no runners. Our dummy half is rubbish. There is no kick pressure. We can’t count numbers in D. We backpedal 10 metres out from our own line for god sake!!!!
